Hi mamas! How are you holding up?

We're doing ok, nursing going great. DD2 will be a week old tomorrow! She had a check today and has lost weight, but no one is concerned since she is nursing so well.

Hi! DD will be 1 week 3 days old today and we had our newborn check, she's gained her weight back so she's back at 9 lbs! Nursing is also going great for us which is awesome since DS and I had serious issues.

I am happy to report that, for us, everything seems easier this time around. DS has a terrible cold right now but even with that, we're all doing great. It kind of helps surrendering to co-sleeping and nursing on demand from the very beginning

I just haven't reported a lot here, posted pics or birth story, etc., out of respect for the fact that a lot of the Jan. mommies aren't even at their EDDs yet and many are feeling frustrated they haven't had their babies yet. I am here to commiserate when they are postpartum as well

Oh, DD is Eloise Catherine, and I am working on my birth story, typed it all out yesterday and stupid Mothering.com lost it!!! Or perhaps my internet connection, whatevs.

I love hearing how the new mommies are doing! Please, tell all--when you have a minute. I'm so excited that we'll be adding new babies all the time from this point on.

Well, we have a 4 day old baby here! Total shock since I was due close to the end of Jan and would have figured on a Feb baby before a December one.

Finn is doing well and eating well. Such a relief since we had so many nursing issues the first time around. This time, my milk came in at 2 days and I seem to have a sufficient supply. :

Noah had to be admitted to the hospital becuase of jaundice, so we spent night #3 in the hospital - I think I've had about 6 hours sleep since he was born. Luckily we came home yesterday,and he's doing much better. He's nursing like a champ.

The main issue I'm having is my 3.5 year old's transition to being part of a brother dynamic instead of being an only. His whining is out of control, he says he can't walk anywhere and he wants to nurse nonstop. I've got to start getting things back to normal somehow!

Sister, you and me together. DD1 woke up last night every two hours to nurse. DD2, the *newborn*, slept a good 6 hour stretch and I woke her up cause *I* figured she was hungry (which she was, nursed in her sleep and continued peacefully to sleep).

I figured a funny newborn story is in order. Well two really:

Whenever we go to bed, I swaddle the little one and put a hat on her head so that she can be warm even if I turn away to nurse the big one. Every morning so far, both her arms ended up inside her onesie and both her legs are down one leg of the onesie. No idea how this happens, the thing even fits her relatively well. It's just a mystery!

Two days ago, the little one was awake in my arms and the big one was standing next to my chair, latched on. I asked her where the baby was, and she poked the baby in the belly, pretty gently and continued to poke. I'm trying not to be the 'omg babies are so fragile, don't touch' so I was just letting her but was ready to stop her should she escalate. Before I got to that part, the little one got poked in just the right spot on her belly for both her legs to extend and basically kick her sister in the face. DH and I had a hard time keeping the laughter in and the big one decided that perhaps nursing wasn't the best idea at this point...

How are the new mamas this week? I think there are about double now what there were last week! And more everyday from here on out I'd say...exciting! :

I had forgotten how incredibly hungry I get after giving birth :. I think it's a combination of all that energy expended plus the making of milk. And I am experiencing extreme engorgement this time around--ouch, I hope it's on its way out of here. Nothing helps, unfortunately.

Emmie is doing well, has some restlessness and I have to hold her a lot, but she also has times where I put her down and she sleeps for a couple hours. The toddler is good about sharing mom (dh has taken a lot of responsibility with her, so that helps immensely!).

Other than that, I'm just downright tired! I'll be glad when sleeping patterns even out a little.

Welcome new babies! Everyone doing ok?

We had a major diaper blowout this morning that required, basically, a bath to clean up. Saddest thing ever is a shivering newborn after a bath. But things got better quickly once she was dressed and she went to sleep in her daddy's arms.
