CDC survey?

Got a letter in the mail this week saying our household has been selected to be part of a survey about vaccinations for the CDC...

Anyone else get this?

I was tempted to participate and toy with them

But dh is the voice of reason as usual and when they call we will simply tell them we choose not to participate (though of course the letter made it seem mandatory...)

What might they want to ask, in the survey? Did the letter go into any detail about the kinds of questions it will include?

This comes up occasionally. It really makes me wonder if people here mention it because most of us disagree with the CDC vaccination policy and we're a tad suspicious of the CDC but we're chosen at the same rate as anyone else, or if people at the CDC are actively trying to search out people who don't follow the CDC vaccination schedule. The latter seems like a lot of work.

I read somewhere that they want to know why people are choosing not to vax. I imagine so they can put together a study to alleviate ours fears. Whatever CDC!

Exactly- I'm sure that's part of it- and what they would use my info for.

That's exactly what it's for. In Switzerland where there is a large Anthroposophic community they have a lot of non-vaxers. I found an article talking about how the Swiss gov't needs to figure out how to get these people to vaccinate.
This is due to the US gov't putting pressure on them because of the measles outbreaks. The Swiss gov't has put out TV commercials in the effect of "if you love your children you will vaccinate."
But I know that someone following an Anthroposophic lifestyle won't buy that BS. Natural health and healing is part of their philosophy.

So in regards to the CDC survey....tempting but forget it.

Just wait...if you decline or do not respond, they will start sending incentives...10 dollars, coupons etc. then the phone calls will start.

Actually the letter just says they will be calling. Doesn't ask for any response now. Just a heads-up that they will call...

This is the CDC..they're worse than the IRS! They can get whatever info they want!

I think the CDC got me when I had to fill out the Opt Out form for the CT vaccine registry...DD is not on the registry, but I think she's on the radar.

That is exactly what they are doing. I talked to them recently when they were developing either this or a similar survey.
