You guys are cracking me up.

I actually think Joelle should have taken the money. I don't see her lasting long enough to actually win anything. I think the only reason she didn't is that her best friend at home would have killed her. Thing is $25,000...after taxes.... They'd both end up with maybe $8,000. Not even enough to pay for Bariatric surgery or hire a trainer and chef for very long.

I'm wondering if there's this whole plan to make Bob seem tough like Jillian. Well, not as tough...but not mr. nice guy either. It seems like they've tried to make Jillian more likable in recent seasons, so maybe this is a new "character" for Bob?

I can't help but wonder how last season's winner are doing. I wonder if Heba and Ed have gained anything back? They have the advantage and disadvantage of being together in it...IMHO. They can keep each other on-track or lead each other off-track. With Ed being a chef, I think they have a strike against them.

Oh...and the umsami family had jambalaya for dinner tonight... made with Jennie-O Turkey Italian sausage. (No seriously!)

lol, I"d give them more than a month since the finale before figuring they'd gain something back. at least 6months.

Jog my memory, was it the silver team who were arguing over who did more/less work resulting in them being near(or at?) the bottom the week they had to send one of them home. does anyone remember why they chose Joelle to stay?

They didn't really show it fully, but I think the other woman felt she would do better at home than Joelle and being at the ranch may motivate Joelle more. I know that their friendship is on the line though. No pressure or anything!

I just wanted to say that when the one dad gave that speech (when they were deciding who to send home the teen boy or jerry), about how the boy will go back home, lose 80 pounds, gain back 110, and that will be it, that will be his life and he'll never do it on his own...i was tearing up, because he truly understood the issues involved. That jerry used to be thin, and knew what he was going back too, but the boy (whose name i cannot remember?!) doesnt even have that reference point. I cringed when i saw his friend ordering those hot dogs and fries, i really hope he doesnt eat like that all month!

did you all see where Joelle's girlfriend's parting words were, "this is the test of our friendship!" oh I was rooting for them until I heard those words. they seemed so much fun. then, instant hate. you are right she really should have taken the money and left. She won't get far with bad attitude.

I'd love to know an update of other season's participants. anyone have any links? any season....

I did too but then I realized that his entire family was extremely overweight and since he only spent a few days on the ranch he probably hasn't the foggiest idea of how to eat healthy. He probably thought a glass of water, 2 hot dogs and an order of fries was a good choice.

I watched it the other night for the first time.

I was really touched by some of it (the working together, and when they chose the boy to stay)

I guess I don't quite get how it works. Is weight a really good way to judge this stuff? Aren't you supposed to go by inches rather than pounds? And how could anyone go through all that and only lose one pound?

It didn't bother me that the 1 guy was eating a hotdog & fries, they were in a cafeteria & most of them have nothing healthy at all.

THis is week 2, their bodies are in shock from the dramatic change in their activity & reduction in food. The body has gone into starvation mode due to the fewer calories they're eating & is holding onto every calorie they're eating. Not all of them are working out at the same level or for as long. Daniel(the heaviest teen) is walking slowly while some of the others are running. Yes he ran 7mpg for 30 seconds, but that was the first time & 30seconds isn't going to make a huge difference. Some of them are probably eating more than they should be, not drinking their water, not doing thier homework exercise.

So is how they do it "fair"? Or does that word not even apply when watching a reality show?

It's based on percentage of weight lost. So a 200lb person can lose 5 pound and a 400lb person can lose 10 pounds and they would be equal - if I did that math correctly.

I think that was a reasonable comment from the friend. Joelle KNOWS her friend is the biggest woman in Biggest Loser history. She needs to be there in a bad way. Joelle has to also know, on some level, that she was not prepared to do more than talk big. She's saying all the right things and crying on cue, but she doesn't seem to be doing much at all. YES, if I had managed to get myself on a show that I thought would give me back my life and health and then my best friend lobbied to stay and half-assed it, it would test our friendship.

She is the daughter in the mother-daughter pairing. Her mom is Helen who got 4th or so in the kayak/mountain challenge last week.

I couldn't believe they had a chance to get rid of Joelle and didn't take it. Is it a strategic thing? Are they hoping she brings her team down or something?

I was inspired. I was watching it at the gym and did an extra ten minutes on the treadmill.

I understand getting rid of Damien. Jillian's team(I think) has started playing the game. Joelle won't last & they know it. Damien had a chance to get really far so they got rid of a threat now instead of later when his fiance comes back & can support him.

Joelle may be annoying, may not work out as hard as the others, may not want to be there like the others but she is not a threat to them because of it.

They both looked great.

I was impressed with Carla, she's lost 44lbs in 3 weeks, 2 of which were at home. If Joelle makes it past next week & Carla gets back in she is going to be a huge threat to the others, the others don't know this yet though so they may regret not getting rid of Joelle. Unless they're always this turbulent I do not see their friendship lasting through this experience.

Did anyone else see the people in the doorway when Carla & Joelle were arguing? Poor Bob, lol

anyone else notice that Dan did NOT participate in the temptation, he was not standing there with the others when they were brought in before or after people ate, they did not show a video of him or his friend, nothing. I wonder what was up with that???

Next week looks heartbreaking. It seems they bring in their partners before weigh in, gotta add that drama in. It seemed that it may be between the orange & brown team for elimination, hopefully it's just editing.

I totally didn't notice Dan was missing from the temptation! I hate when shows do that. Big Brother did that one season, got rid of a player and didn't even acknowledge it. Has anyone been on the site? Is there anything posted there?

I knew they weren't going to get rid of Joelle. They focus on her way too much. It's like she's a "main character".

I was also suprised that they voted for the red team, but I understand that Jill's team thought that it was teh best decision for Jill's team. So now team play is ON!

I thought they showed Dan and ?david? (orange), adn they both ate nothing... maybe not???

When Bob called from Detroit, the players were on massage tables.... were they icing their legs??? splints??? they must get massages and physical therapy at least twice a day after each hard woukout. How much does that play into the huge weight loss they have? Is that what help their bodies workout 8 hours a day?

I also have a theory that they take a 3 hour nap every day. sleep releases those metabolic hormones, adn then their bodies get refreshed and they can work out 4 more hours... so teh body thinks it is getting 2 workout days into each 24 hour period. Thoughts???

I only watched half the show last night. So they sent Damien (I love how smitten he is with his fiance, so sweet) home over Joelle. I think I would have had to get rid of Joelle she irks me. She does not show emotions and it makes me want to shake her alive or something. I would be pissed if I was her partner she's not giving it her all and doesn't seem to get it at all. Their dynamic is annoying as all get out, all the drama/yelling from the one and the emotionless soft annoying voice from the other, gah.

Last night's elimination was crazy!! I think the black team lied about respecting Bob's teams choice. They went into the main room where they were deciding and said "We want to know what you want us to do" basically and then did the opposite. That stinks.

Joelle is on her way to getting her butt whopped by Carla. That will be interesting.

I think the Orange team is going to be in trouble because of the one that went home. He ate terribly.
