Tribe for Hairy Mamas in 2009 - Page 2

Yay for new threads! Still here and still hairy. Almost 3 months now!
welcome back all the hairy mommas that had to wait for internet service!!! still hairy here as well and lovin it. At work somone saw a peek at my hairy legs and she asked me laughing if i just stopped shaving all together. I wasnt shy and said no I just dont shave anymore. She said she would love to do that but her husband would think she is even more of a freak. So maybe she will forget to shave for a little while and her hubby will just get used to it. That is what i told her to do We might have a convert that lives close to me :

My sisters keep asking when I am gonna shave. My 11 year old sister told me that its gross that I don't shave! She doesn't have enough on her legs yet TO SHAVE! And she has my 9 year old sis thinking the same way! I have some converting to do!

If I only had an outside tub in NY, I think I'd be on "sponge baths only" from mid-September til May!

I've been in outdoor baths in snowy conditions - you make a fire under the tub (make sure you have a wooden false bottom in the tub so you don't burn your tush ), and it stays toasty warm you just reach over and add another stick to the fire now and then. and it's so nice to be in a hot tub in the snow! mmmmm

No "new" converts by me, but DD1 has been shaving less regularly (letting the pits grow, but still shaving her lower legs) and DD2 has never shaved her whole life. Of course, she's not particularly hairy yet, and may change her mind at some point in the future, but in general she's very practical and not overly concerned about fashion, and is very much the type to not bother shaving because it's a PITA and who cares how it looks? But, we'll see how being an American teenager meshes with that outlook.

majik - that's so awesome about the house! I'm so happy for you. I would very much like a bigger house. Some day Just a second floor would be nice. Some place to send the kids when they are getting loud... We live in a 1000 sq ft open concept berm. It's basically all one big room. The bed rooms have a foot of open space at the top of the walls and no doors. It's warm, so I'm not complaining! I bet it's really nice to spread out though!

caspian'smama!!!!!! I've been missing you! So nice to see you again. How have you been?

Well, now that I'm officially a mama I have decided to embrace my natural state of hairyness once again! I wish my hair wasn't so dark - I think light fluffy hair looks better than my dark, coarse hair, but oh well! I feel free and womanly!

So, what are you planning to wear to the wedding? A long sleeved dress and a fancy hat, or something sleeveless to freak them out?

shaved heads are beautiful to me!:
actually it is a strapless dress with a transparent button down shirt over it. they'll be able to see the pits if they're looking. but NO WAY am i hidin' my awesome new 'do.

my family is pretty much used to my pits and have cracked all their jokes already.

: Isn't it great?

I remember when I was a kid, my parents had "The Joy of Sex" sitting out in the living room. Whether or not they put it there on purpose for me to find, I'm not sure, but I loved looking at it. And, I loved that the woman in the drawings had beautiful pit hair! Ever since, I've enjoyed having that soft, dark armpit hair. It took me longer to embrace my leg hair, but now that I do, I feel so beautiful and natural.

Yay for hairy mamas!

Hey happy hairy honeys!
I am glad this tribe exists. I get the worst looks from folks when I change in public or wear a tank top or capris. I don't really wear shorts or short skirts but kudos to those of you who do. I hate to shave, I never did it much when I was a teen even though my mom keept trying to convince me it was the only right way to take care of my self. My sister yelled at me for an hour on the phone when I was preganant and told her I didn't shave, she had the idea that the nurse would be cutting me up with a straight razor! The funny thing is that my mom has stopped shaving now lol. I used to have a bunch of crunchy friends when I lived in Berkeley and few if any of them shaved, but there arn't many girls like that around here! Well that's enough self disclosure for now.
Be well

so we've talked some before about not plucking chin hairs. i still can't really deal with the sensation of those growing in but i've been letting my chest hair (it seems weird to type that) grow since probably last spring. it's not soft and blonde like my other body hair but i've gotten used to it curling up a bit around my neck and nipples. i noticed recently that it's getting more and more visible- definitely will turn an observant head or two when i take to wearing sunny weather shirts again. my man friend doesn't seem to care, which is nice. i'm just curious what y'alls experiences with that area are because it's not something we touch upon too often, even here.
