Well, Looks like she's decided she's done

My daughter is 2 1/2 years old and in the last few weeks she has breastfed less and less. Doesn't ask for it anymore, doesn't show any signs of wanting it anymore. We haven't breastfed for over 2 days and I think she's ready to move on. It's bittersweet. Part of me is happy that she's decided that she's done.. and another part of me is sad that I will no longer breastfeed a child. We do not plan to have any more children.

I'm grateful that she and I had an easy time with breastfeeding and that we lasted as long as we did at it.

So thank you little one and I look forward to watching you grow through different eyes and marvel at your independence.

yes, I just dropped a tear.

So sweet!

I am at the same point with my DD. She asks less and less,and all too soon it will be over. She has nursed longer than my others,and as I am ready for to be done.... I'm not.

Great job mama!!!!!

awww, it definitely seems like a bittersweet moment when the time is right. Good for you for giving her so much time to receive good comfort and nutrition from her loving mama.

Your post made me shed a tear as well.

My youngest DD is also 2 1/2. While she still nurses often I know that 'last day' will come all too soon.

Take care ::
