Felted Tea Cozy?

Thread Starter
I would like to make a tea cozy out of a wool sweater that has been (unintentionally) felted. The plan is just to cut shapes out of the wool, and sew back together with embroidery floss or similar. I AM NOT CRAFTY, and am not sure about translating the round shape of the teapot onto the flat planes of the felt. I do have an old, heavy-ish T-shirt I can use to pattern... any suggestions from you experts before I just start cutting things up with abandon?

Thanks in advance!

Don't know, never tried it, can't sew. . . . BUT, I did find this:

Scroll down and there are a bunch of tea cozy pattern links. The ruffled cozy with pics shows how to measure a tea pot to make a pattern and there is another link for cozy tips. HTH
