Oh natrualmom, I'm so sorry. I really thought this would be it for you. It's a good thing you mentioned your symptoms, though. It could've turned out worse if you went through w/the IUI. FWIW, I hyperstimulated a bit w/clomid (6 large follicles and a bunch of smaller ones) and had no cysts the next month. So it's possible you won't have to take a month off. Take care of yourself these next two weeks.

joyakshi, welcome. I hope the converted IUI cycle works for you. I don't have any answers to your questions but hopefully someone else here will. I also never hesitate to call my RE when I'm not sure. I figure I'm paying him the big bucks.

Natmom- who knows, maybe DTD last night will surprise you in 2 weeks

I am following your suggestions and will ask for the progesterone suppositories my clinic uses with IUI's. I def don't use the PIO apparently.
I got a call back from RE and I do Lupron with the trigger tomorrow AM, and IUI Friday AM. She said they want the spermies in there before ovulation as opposed to waiting the 36 hours for complete maturation like they do for IVF. DH & I will follow up with I/C on Sat & Sun too in case of delayed OV. I feel better doing Lupron tomorrow as I would worry about premature OV before IUI if I didn't.

I'm back - unfortunately!!!!!!!!

Wish I wasn't back, but I am!!! Nothing against you ladies, but I wish I was on the other side (BFP) - don't we all. We have been kinda on a break from officially trying - charting, monitoring, drugs, iui's... (didn't really technically stop) to get some sinus issues straighten up. Not so sure they are totally fixed or ever will be, but I'm on the ttc road again. I officially ordered my next set of meds so I guess that puts me back in this awful game!! Next Wed. should be my CD 1 unless we happened to catch an egg with this past cycle (i can only hope). So on Sat morning I should be getting my cooler full of Gonal F and ovidrel. This will be my first injection cycle with IUI so I'm a little nervous, but I'm very hopeful!!! Anyone used Gonal F before???? Did you have bad symptoms from it?? I didn't have any symptoms when on clomid so I'm hoping this will be the same. I really need to get caught up on all my thread reading. I feel like I have been gone for so long. Good luck to all of you other ladies.

Ps. This might be old news....but I recently read John and Kate plus 8's new book out (Multiple Blessings) and didn't realize that she had her sextuplets via injections and IUI!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy Cow!!!

Welcome back! good luck! Oh and I thought John and Kate were on Clomid? Hmm...maybe not. But yeah, I knew that they did IUIs. You never really hear of that many multiples from IVF! Mainly because the doctor's are dumb enough to put 6 embies in there! That is interesting that it was injections though. Wonder what med she was on and why they didn't check to make sure there weren't a million eggs ready to pop out?

Welcome back blueyezz4 but, like you, sorry you're not in a different forum. Glad your sinuses are better. And it's exciting to try a different course on this TTC journey. Hopefully the injections will work for you.

Blue- I do Gonal-F (its FSH, or follicle stimulating hormone). I have not had too much trouble with it. It does not act on your estrogen like clomid, so the chances of moodiness and other side effects aren't apparent. I can feel the FSH soon after injection by my ovaries. It feels kinda hot to me. This cycle I have hyperstimmed on it this cycle, and that happens. I belive my first Gonal-F pen was faulty and leaked back into the cartirige, and I did not recieve the full dose. I am usually ready for trigger by CD 12, but had to stim 3 more days with a different pen. That made me hyperstim I believe: I sent the pen in to be examined, and they are sending me a new one. Uggg....

I like to clarify with people that John and Kate were not IVF, and it suprises people. I believe it was injectibles, though.

hi my dear friend blue, sorry we cont. to meet under these circumstances. i just finished my 3rd cycle with follistim (comparable to gonal) and while clomid made me this did not. some diff. phys. side effects but such a relief to not totally lose myself for a week+. good luck with your next steps.

our "last chance IUI" went well. the circumstances around it not so much. after 10 days of clear michigan weather we had some serious lake effect snow. we drove up last night in scary weather, got a hotel room with a broken heater or something...it was like 90 deg. in there. we put the ac on high and still it would not cool down, so we both got no sleep. i was so worried dh wouldn't be able to do it. but god love the trooper, he did and we had 36.9 mil. sperm. this time my fert. signs were confused (maybe from lupron?) cp was not so high, and she had a hard time getting the cath. through. she asked if anyone ever used the tenaculum with me before and i whimpered "please don't do that, try harder," and she got it finally. as much as i don't llke the 2ww, having the shots and iui orchestration behind me is such a relief, the 2ww seems great in comparison. sure that will change a week from now.

Nummies - Yeah, I think her first set of twins might have been from clomid, but I'm almost sure the second pregnancy was from injections (they didn't say which one). I think if i remember right, when she had her first U/S they said there were 4 good follies and several other small ones there and then after the IUI and tww I think they counted 7 embries that actually stuck, but later on they lost one naturally. The dr wanted to do a reduction, but b/c of their beliefs they wouldn't do it so they ended up with 6 little ones!!!!! I actually really did enjoy the book and it kinda gives you a little hope when you are going through IF also. She had PCOS. Good luck to you in this adventure!!!!!

Naturalmom - So sorry to hear about your hyperstim situation!! That really sucks!! That is what scares me too b/c i kinda feel like i'm kinda sensitive, but we will see I can only try to think positive and take one day at a time -that is my motto with this whole IF thing!! I know clomid made me O early like on CD 12 or something so I wonder if this will do the same? Wait, are you the one that also O early on clomid too? Sorry I have been kinda out of the loop with this whole thing and there are so many different people on here that I forgot from time to time. Something is coming back to me, but it might not have been you. Sometimes I feel like i need to keep a book of people and jot down their name and some info so I can keep everyone straight. You know what i mean???

Anyways, I'm glad to hear that you didn't have many symptoms with the gonal F med. That already calms my heart a little bit. So i don't know how this whole process goes b/c i've never done it, but I do know i go on CD 2 or 3 for my baseline U/S and then they tell me when to "shoot up" and for how long is that right??? Then i'm sure it is like the other IUI you have to have another U/S and then they will tell you when to trigger and schedule the IUI. Do they check any blood levels? They didn't with my clomid IUI's. How does your normal cycle on this med go, do you mind sharing? i know everyone is different and it all depends on how fast your follies grow, but i'm just looking for some insight here. Thanks for the good wishes Blue! Yeah it's ivf after this, have our consult next week which I hope becomes irrelevant info. My DH is 38 and he takes a lot of vitamins for brain health actually and fish oil. I think they're helping though, really high anti-ox. I had him on maca over the summer (have to get back to it) and his #s were higher. That one I recommend.

I got the official negative result today from the beta. I was doubled over in pain with cramps on my way to the test this morning. I kept thinking how stupid it was to be going to get blood drawn when my cramps have now gotten so bad that I am absolutely sure that AF will be here either tomorrow or Saturday. I expect her any moment now!

So, I will soon be starting my fourth IUI cycle, 2nd one with Letrozole. I will be going in a day earlier for the u/s as we were a little late on the draw this past month.

Poetgirl, I am so glad to hear the IUI went well (even with no sleep and crappy weather!) and am hoping that IVF becomes a non-issue for you!

Nope,, not me, never had clomid My doc doesn't like it. This what we do. Baseline U/S CD3, estrodial (my doc likes it uner 80) Stimmin (shots) until day 8, (dosage made by doc based on U/S and estrodial levels) do U/S and draw estrodial, make plans for trigger or more stims from here. I am usually ready for trigger on CD12, (Except now Hope this works great for you!

I forgot to add: I am so bloated from the clomid (8dpo) that I look pregnant. it seems like every month it gets worse. I actually thought someone at work might ask and I would have to think of something to say. I am a horrible liar and always end up blushing...we haven't told ANYONE we are trying. I was worried it would take a long time, and yup it is!

AFM: AF showed yesterday. Ugh. I knew it was coming but it still sucks. So anyway, the RE wants to do a repeat HSG this month (I had one three years ago) and then another IUI. I am not sure if he wants us to do Clomid again or not. Getting ready to call.

Ok. now the true of everything..... I wasn't preganant.... my period is here after a few days late : but the good thing is that today I start my stimulation and the ultrasound said that is everything ok, on monday I have a new one and maybe on wednesday too.

Probably my IUI is on thursday or friday, so put your canddles, cross your fingers and pray, because this is my last chance and then after 18 months of stimulations, surgery & controls we stop for ever, I'm really tired and I don't want anything else.

Had my IUI this morning. I had a younger nurse who had trouble getting the catheter through, and so the regular nurse I've had before came in and I can never feel it when she does it
I was also confused my my fertility signs (Lupron, I'm sure)- but the regular nurse said everything looked good for today.
I had taken one of the valiums I would have used for my ET, so that helped a lot!
So, with 3 follies and 27.2 m sperm I've got fingers crossed for us both!
Should we start a 2ww thread?

btw - what was your IUI meds protocol?

nummies, sorry about AF. Did you have problems w/your tubes being open before? Just curious why your RE wants another HSG. I had one when TTC #1but not since. I've wondered whether my tubes could've gotten blocked in the meantime?

BellyBean, I was soooo bloated from clomid that I was embarassed to go outside. I actually cancelled some engagements we had. But then I though, well, I'll get pregnant this month anyway so it won't matter. Yeah, that was 5 months ago.

DaisyMae08, sorry about the BFN. It seems like such a slap in the face when you already know the results but I can understand the clinic's rationale. Hope you're feeling better and taking it easy this weekend.

blueyezz4, maybe it was me you were thinking of re: clomid and ovulating on CD 12?

AFM, We've decided to go au naturale this cycle but w/monitoring. So I'll have an u/s and estradiol around CD 11 (Thursday) and then do OPKs to time my IUI. Only one this cycle. I told my doctor my concerns and side effects w/the trigger and he pretty much dismissed my concerns. Then I called a friend who is a RE in another state and she said of course my symptoms are related and I probably have too much estrogen in my system d/t the trigger and suggested testing the estrogen at 7 dpo, which my RE refused to do. Anyone heard of this b/f re:the trigger? I'm not too happy right now w/my RE but there's noone else in town. I feel a road trip happening in my near future, like my next cycle.
