I can totally do one shelf/ drawer per day. I usually make a to-do list that runs a mile and get overwhelmed and not do even one thing from my list. So yeah, just one shelf a day will be perfect for me.

I have been following this thread for a few days now and I have already started decluttering the shelves of a storage cupboard. So far 4 shelves done - and the cupboard is totally clutter free. wooohoooo!

me too --- I try not to look at the whole picture or I get overwhelmed and then do nothing.

Its easier for me to think that by the end of this month I will have cleaned / tidied 30 shelves/drawers. it really only takes 10-15 minutes per day -- but it feels so good when its done.

I also find that I almost forget what I have in my house so it helps me be more aware of what I have .... and of course ... I am always find lost things burried in a drawer which is an extra bonus

I "missed" yesterday. Where's the beat myself up smiley? j/k. In my defense, I was doing my weekly quick-clean home-blessing and DH comes up to me while I'm vacuuming and tells me to quit cleaning, that I worked all day--and that he wanted to watch a football game without feeling guilty about not helping me (ok--where's the laughing smiley?) So I just took out the trash and put together the new stroller, then folded laundry while watching the game. (To be honest, it is easier without his help because he gets all perfectionistic and starts telling me "here's the plan" and I don't get anything done I intended.)

I missed two days to tackle the huge messy kitchen. It's almost done now. Today I will declutter the top of the fridge.

I've been under the weather so today must tackle 3! I think I will do the towel drawer in the kitchen, which is overflowing and needs a good purge, one bathroom drawer, and hmmm....ok one dresser drawer(since I've got a bag of clothes already started for goodwill).

I did my sock drawer! I got rid of ratty old socks and got a few new pairs with a gift card. Oh and when I put away clean socks I don't have to stuff them in to make them fit.

I did under the kitchen sink yesterday. It was such a jumble, it put me in a bad mood every time I opened it to get the dishwasher soap out. So... It took me 15 minutes and I:
removed all the vases except one small, one medium and one large (I need and do use all of them during the summer, but not during this season)
gathered and bagged all the wine corks I usually throw down there ( saving for project)
swept up stray dirt (from a few clay flower pots) and spilled dish washer soap
put batteries in flashlight so it actually works
moved rubber gloves into my dish rag drawer so I'll be more apt to use
cleaned and organized lazy susan of dish soap, strainers, etc.

It looks great! Hubby loves when I organize. I was inspired by his reaction to the pantry I did on Monday. No more sticky honey on the bottom of every item!

I did the refrigerator today... I'll count that as a shelf.

Today will be my last day in my kitchen. I cleaned out the fridge day before yesterday--counting that as a shelf, too. Nothing yesterday due to the BCS National Championship Game. I think I'll do under the sink today. It needs it, desperately.

Tomorrow, I move to whatever is in flylady's Zone 3.

I have been SLACK this week for the most part. Well, no, I haven't, I've been super busy with other things, but haven't been working on decluttering. I am planning to work on at least 5 shelves/drawers/areas this weekend. They might all be in my fridge.

Yesterday-top of fridge and inside. The top drives me crazy. There is now one basket on top with art supplies which only are played with at the kitchen table.

Today-my son's closet. Organized the stuff that was in there and pullled out one small bag of old clothes to donate. I can hang his clothing in it now! It isn't completely done but I made some progress.

Wow!!

That motivated me and I got a drawer decluttered in the kitchen yesterday night. Slowly one drawer/shelf at a time, I might end up with a totally decluttered kitchen too! Thanks for the motivation. I so needed it yesterday.

Today's goal: sort out my son's clothes drawer. (Sort into no-good, toss; outgrown; then sort the playclothes-stuff that is mildly stained but okay to wear around the house- from the school/church/ok to wear outside the house clothes).

I'm in! (a bit late ) I've done several in the last 2 days though, so maybe I'll try to catch up to 31 by the end of the month?

Yesterday I did the refrigerator and the 2 pantry drawers.

I just did my 2 drawers and the hanging clothes (that's all there is of my clothes, actually. I don't keep much.) So I'm at 5.

I also want to do the home office paperwork drawer today and my little metal hanging file box that is supposed to house my WAHM work. It has projects from October taking over and the stuff for right now is piled on my cabinets. : The freezer would be good to do too, bc I'm making multiples of tonight's dinner to freeze (black bean cakes).

I have the sitter and no paying work today so I figure I should make as much use of the time as possible!

So 5 down and hopefully 2 more to go today!
