CHALLENGE: I am NOT taking that into February

I would love to challenge everyone to get rid of at least one item every day for the month of January -- something that is irritating you and you just don't want to hang onto it any longer ....... dont' take your junk into February

You will be 30 items lighter for February 01st.

Are you in????:

I'm so in!! I'm actually going to try and do 10 items each day, but will definitely do at least 1 a day.

I'll do it too, but I am hoping to do a lot more than 30.

I'm on board, It's a great idea!

Yes!

I was just thinking yesterday, that while I love the idea of getting rid of 1000 items, and have tried to do this a few times, I can never keep track of how many I've actually gotten rid of.

So yes, this is a goal I can actually reach. I'm in.

I'm in. I actually spent some time going through my kitchen yesterday. I already got rid of 10 different glass bottles/jars that I was storing for no good reason...their in the recycling bin now .

I read this today and thought I would share it:

Trying to organize without purging.
Organizing clutter is a bit of a misnomer; unless you have unlimited space and resources, you are never going to be free of clutter if you're not willing to let some of it go. You have to purge what you no longer use, throw away what is trash, and then organize what's left over; the things that are actually contributing to your quality of life at the moment.

I'm late but I'm so in. I've tried to get rid of some of the crap that we've accumulated over the years but every time I try I get overwhelmed and just quit. I can handle one thing a day! :

Me too! One a day. I can do this. And I bet if I stick to it, there will be more than that going.

Oh I like this idea, I can handle one a day.

I'm it as well! Is it ok if I put the item in a box by the door each day & take it to the thrift store each week? Or ought I have it out of the house & gone each day?
Me too!

Ooh I'm in!

We took down the holiday decorations today, and we purged four larger decorations that we didn't even put out this year, to minimize what we were packing up for next year. So that's four already!

I'm not sure if I've been successful yet - I took out several items today that were garbage/recycling (an empty pill bottle; the plastic packaging from a gift from a couple of years ago, etc). Not sure if those really count!

Ooh I'm in!!! Decluttering was a new year's resolution for us this year. Sounds like a great way to start.
