i'm in! and i've already started.....got rid of 3 items today! we had 3 old non-stick skillets that i've be DYING to replace with 2 triple ply stainless steel skillets and today i finally did it!

I purged the spices today and got rid of all the ones that I've had for 6+ months. So much space in the cabinet now!

oh i'm sure there will be. i was in macy's the other day and they were having a huge sale on all their cookware, so you may want to check there.

i got mine at bed bath & beyond because i always have a boatload of their 20% off coupons.

now that we've officially started on our kitchen mini remodel i will be purging crap like crazy out of my kitchen! i can't wait to dig in. hubby is out at lowes picking up the wood for my new counter height tables/work space as i type. woohoo!

I'm so in. This fits with my new year resolution - Declutter! We will be moving in another 2-3 months. If I can declutter as much as I can before that, it will be so easy to pack and move too.

yesterday i got rid of several items from one of our kitchen drawers as i was purging.

3 "chip clips"
1 "twisty straw"
4 very old (very cheap) serving spoons
1 plastic bottle opener
2 very old pumpkin carving knives
6 old pieces of plastic cutlery
1 reeeealllly ugly christmas mug
1 old coffee scoop

sadly, that's from only ONE of our kitchen drawers! i think i'm going to kick butt with this challenge!

Im in really late but Ive been cleaning and purging all month... So far this month Ive gotten rid of:
- At least 5 bags of misc trash that accumulated over the holidays
-8-10 moldy baby blankets from our washer flooding (again)
- 3 diaper covers that just aren't working
- 5 pairs of holey undies
- at least 40 socks that didn't have matches to them or had holes in the heels
- 10 Christmas decorations that were broken or just not my style (we have a ton that was passed down to us that I just don't like)
- A couple of DVDs and CDs that were scratched beyond repair
- probably close to 50 toys that were either broken or not being used (and I found a set of toys that had been recalled that I thought I had already gotten rid of)

on sunday i filled three (leftover christmas gift) bags with 31 items. i realize this is following the letter of the law rather than the spirit of the law, and i promise to continue to declutter throughout the month, but i just wanted to reach my goal and get it over with.

four towels and ten washcloths, new with tags . . . they were hideous disney cars towels/washcloths that wouldn't have held up worth a damn. my boys are little enough that i can declutter gifts before they even really become part of our household and the boys are none the wiser.

3 bottles of bath salts, new, unopened containters

a little display shelfy thing

an unloved ornament

a few books

and mostly the rest were clothes i decluttered as i folded the laundry. (a lot of laundry.)

we got rid of an old fridge this week --- taking up lots of room .. I am so happy about it.

plus so far about 12 bags of garbage to the dump as well

as i'm decluttering our kitchen during this remodel, i have rid myself of so much that i've literally lost count.

so i'll continue as the remodel goes on but i won't have an accurate count.

I got a late start, here is what I've gotten rid of (or put in garage sale box) so far.

-bikini (I've had twins, will not wear that again!)
-worn out socks and underwear
-4 bibs I didn't like
-went through children's drawers - got rid of ugly/too small/too stained
-all clothes that do not fit me today/out of style
-fabric I was never going to use
-yarn I was never going to use
-recycled recipes I was never going to make and organized my recipe book
-threw 3 half dead plants in compost, pots are in garden area ready for spring
-plastic board books
-a few toys that drive me nuts/they don't like

Question - what about dh's clutter? He will not get on board for this challenge!
