Rand Memorial Hospital in the Bahamas tells TMZ the son of John Travolta died today.

We're told 16-year-old Jett was vacationing with Travolta and wife Kelly Preston. We do not know the circumstances of his death.

There have been reports that Jett was autistic, though Travolta has denied it, saying he suffers from Kawasaki Syndrome, a condition which often leads to heart disease.

That's so terrible.

A friend of mine's daughter had Kawasaki's two years ago. I know it weakens the heart. I haven't seen any link between the Kawasaki's and the seizure in this instance. Wondering if they're related?

wasn't there something about him possibly having autism and the travoltas refusing to treat it because of the scientology church not allowing it or soemthing? I don't remember exactly.

autism is NOT fatal. we don't "treat" our son's autism - not because we're scientologists but b/c we don't consider it a disease...

just an fyi....
