So I'm right at the 40 lb. mark at 38 weeks tomorrow... so I have between 0-4 weeks left basically. I gained 56 with DS and really wanted to keep this time under 40. But I don't care anymore. I keep eating junk food and feeling bad about it and dreading the scale. I gained 5 lbs. in 2 weeks between my last 2 appts. It is the holidays, yada yada, but it was SOOOO hard to lose the weight after DS. BFing didn't help with the last 25 lbs. of it.

Oh no...
s
By junk are you referring to sugar- or just junk in general? If it is sugar cravings- try a mineral suppliment. If it is junk in general- try filling up on good protien sources like eggs, milk, nuts, nut butter, meats, beans etc. I do a protien shake in the morning (2 c milk, 3 eggs, vanilla, nutmeg, spinach, berries in the blender). It honestly fills me up so much I can't think of eating anything until a late lunch....

I know where you are. I am 39 weeks and the last week and a half I've gone downhill as far as eating is concerned. With so many holiday meals at people's homes I've ate way too many carbs (breads, potatoes, pasta, etc). I was doing great beforehand with only a 40 pound weight gain and holding steady. With my first pregnancy I gained 60 and I was really hoping to avoid that this time around.

If you eat extra protein with each meal and between each meal and before bed, you will physically not have the room for other foods. Suddenly, when I bumped up my protein with a vengeance, I stopped craving the sugar, and I've been able to "nearly" kick my coke habit. I feel FABULOUS and healthy, too!
