Thanks, everyone, for thinking of me all day! It was really, really hard. I think the hardest part was that I was doing ok, busy at work, but then had to stop and pump and get all emotional thinking about her!

The other hard part is that as soon as I got to work, I opened my car door to get out and my co-worker pulled in next to me and crashed into my car door. Totally wrecked it. She was going way too fast and it was totally her fault. My poor brand new car is going to need a lot of work, as in a whole new door and tons of paint, and I just did NOT need that stress on top of returning to work.

And she doesn't want me to go through her insurance b/c she shares a policy with her brother who just recently totalled his truck along with 2 other cars and a fence (don't ask) so her insurance payment is really high right now. She isn't very well off financially and cares for her mother who is basically a vegetable after suffering a brain aneurism. We are actually pretty good friends even outside of work and I'm very sympathetic to her situation. So I'm going to use my own insurance and submit it as a comprehensive claim, and she is going to pay my deductible. Hopefully they cover the damage in full but if not I told her she had to give me money for the damages regardless. I'm just so pissed off.

My poor new Mini. I'm just beyond sad about that.

And I'm trying to decide when to give my 2 weeks notice at work...before my supervisor goes on vacation next week, or after she returns?

Tara - I'm so sorry about the frame with the photos. That would break my heart, as well.

Tara That sucks about your dh's situation at work and the frame. That's one of the good things about digital though I guess...that your pics aren't gone forever.

Have fun at your Bradley class reunion. I love CB class reunions... seeing all the babes you guys waited for for so long is so much fun!

You made it Carrie!!! That TOTALLY sucks about your Mini Big Fat Bummer with side of suck sauce.

How come you're going to quit your job? I know you were talking about it all along, but didn't think you'd actually go through with it.

Honestly, if I didn't love my job and/or make a heap of money doing it I would quit and stay home with my girls until they were at least school age. I don't believe in working just to pay for daycare or working because a modern woman is "supposed" to. Whatever decision you make, I'm sure it'll be the right one

I couldn't EC Ds.......the way I know he poops is the loud obvious noise as it's happening......that's probably a little late

we are having great fun with CD's though, my first to be fully CD'd from birth. DD is also still in dipes, she is also CD though it's not having quite the helpful potty benefit I was hoping for yet.......all in good time?

He LAUGHED for the first time in the tub tonight! I swear the baby remembers his birth when he is bathing.....he's always been SOOO cute in the bathtub. So relaxed. Now he coos and talks to me...and tonight he LAUGHED! SO sweet! (he was born in a bathtub. )

and not to brag or anything but this babe at 8 weeks is the happiest child I've had. If he is not asleep he is either nursing or smiling. I seriously have never seen a baby so smiley. my other kids were not colicky or anything.....but this one is constantly smiles and coos. He does not cry unless it is time to nurse and I'm "being mean" and changing his diaper first

even when he needs to nurse almost always he will slow the crying to unhappy-noises that sound like he is trying to collect himself as I either lay down next to him in bed or lift the shirt. It's *so* funny. He's been doing this for awhile now too. He KNOWS.

AmberLion: That's great that Addie was so good through the labour. I can't imagine doing that (ie losing even more sleep) for the whole week-end. You must be exhausted!

Tara: That is so sad that they took your digital frame. I hope that the company will compensate you guys for that.

Carrie: What a way to start off your first day back to work. Not what you needed for sure! I hope you got lots of good cuddles with Nora last night.

Cat: How long is Bill gone for? Somedays I don't know how I do it either but the Navy life is one that we chose together. You just have to take the good with the bad...the good is that it allows me to be a SAHM and live a really good life and the bad is that DH goes away sometimes. My DH is really upset about leaving for this next trip because he is gone for 6 or 8 weeks and he knows that Charlotte will change so much in that amount of time.

AAM: I am about to lose my mind. My great little sleeper is no more and I'm exhausted. I'm hoping this is just a wonder week or a growth spurt and she returns to being a good sleeper soon. For the last four nights she's been up no less than four times a night. At least she is a really happy baby...nothing like waking up to a babies laugh from the crib!

Well, I better start my day. I must really like you guys...I came in here before even having a cup of coffee. I just had to come in and check to see how everyone is doing!

Orionbelt, don't know why I never noticed before, but our lo's were both born on the 16th. When I read about how she must be going thru a growth spurt I looked to your sig because my ds is going through the SAME thing as of 4 days ago. Last night it seemed like he was permanently attached nursing away. aaah. Hope it's over soon!

oh no carrie!!! not the mini!

jessica - he's back on fri, but has a total of three trips this month. gonna try to stay busy while he's away... i hope yr baby is sleeping well again soon.

when/if calla finishes eating, we're gonna go visit my former co-workers today. i think i'll deliver them some hot chocolate since it's so cold and soggy here today.

gotta make a trip to whole foods this afternoon too.

AA-us- B has a diaper rash. It's HUGE but not terribly angry looking this morning. It's fine and lacey looking... not yeasty looking. I've tried everything. I'm terrified he's getting some sort of allergy to his diapers. I searched DS and it seems that some kids develop an allergy to the microsuede in BG. I'm working on healing it with silk liners since diaper cream will ruin the cloth diapers. God, what a mess. It doesn't seem to be bothering him thank goodness. He has however, found his boy parts. That's a lot of fun... cleaning to poo off his hands now. I forgot about this phase.

Orionbelt and neveryoumindthere, good to know I wasn't the only sleepless mama last night..Miss Iris was awake all. night. long. Nursing, fussing, cooing, chattering, over and over again. I got maybe an hour of sleep broken into several small chunks. Ugh. I am so tired right now!

Posting from work just to mention that I think Nora has started teething! Nothing is breaking through but she's been a huge fusser, lots of gas, an angry red rash on her behind, tugging her ears and rubbing her gums -- and the drool! OMG.

Ugh. Poor babe. I think Iris is in the same boat. All my babes have gotten teeth early...like 3-4 months...and I think Iris will follow suit. Last night she was inconsolable. Tooth issues are hard enough for adults, it sucks that sweet babes have to suffer with cutting teeth. to little Nora.

AAM I am having such a hard time staying off MDC when I am supposed to be doing work for school. I have about zero interest in staying focused on my pharmacology project right now. Blah!

Birthdance: Alright...you win! I got more than an hour of broken sleep but I'm still pretty tired. I'm hoping for a good nights sleep tonight for all of us!

Neveryoumind: I didn't know we gave birth on the same day either! I'm at least glad to know that Charlotte isn't the only one!

So after very little sleep and cleaning all.day.long I am exhausted. But I treated myself when the kids went to bed with another coffee and a cookie! I've been so good for the last week with food but the frozen cookies (for our Apres Holiday Party on Saturday) were calling out to me today and I couldn't resist! Better go...boobaholic is fussing! I love the big belly laughs they have! Nora had a really hardcore belly laugh last night after her bath while I was drying her off. OMG it was the CUTEST thing evar! It was the first time she did that and I was just in awe!

So yeah, being back at work stinks. I'm quitting for a few reasons. To be home with Nora, of course, is #1. In 2006/07 I actually went back to school and got my esthetics license so that I could do makeup or work in a spa. That's really what I want my career to be in. I was going to quit my job and pursue that, but then we decided to have a baby. So I kept my office job with it's fabulous maternity leave (16 weeks full pay) but I had to return to work in order to qualify. I'm not happy where I am b/c I'm pushing papers and sitting at a desk when I'd rather being elbow deep in facial creams and sugar scrubs! I'm going to probably work part time once I leave my company, either for a spa or, if I can get it, a job at a dermatologist's office.

We've decided (99% sure) to name our new kitty Tayla. I hope to get a picture of her soon, she is so gorgeous! She's just being very shy and hiding behind couches and things right now. She and Cosette aren't really getting along, but hopefully soon they will warm up to each other. We only got another cat so that Cosette wouldn't be lonely...so hopefully the plan doesn't completely backfire.

Alright, DH is running out to the store so I've got to go snuggle Nora. I swear, I feel like I've got no time with her. It's already 7 pm! Ugh, SUCKS being away from her all day!!!

Those are all awesome reasons to quit your job Carrie. You go girl... If possible, I'd wait to tell your supervisor until she gets back from vacation. Unless you despise her. Then tell her first thing in the morning tomorrow I'm mean.

It's good to know I'm not the only one whose baby has started sleeping like a newborn again. Also, I know she knows when I'm getting her ready for bed because when I start our routine (diaper change, PJs, feeding, bed) she starts fussing and when we get to the point when I sit down to nurse her she just bawls. When I stand up it apparently means it's not bedtime anymore, because she immediately becomes happier again. This has only been a problem for the past 2 nights, and I really hope it won't last long, since it means we don't get to bed until 1:30-2 in the morning again. It's a BIG change, since we had been getting to sleep by 11 and she actually seemed to calm down and get drowsy when I started the bedtime routine.

I'm getting the No-Cry Sleep Solution book from the library, so hopefully that will help.

On a more positive note, Eleanor laughed for the first time yesterday! It was just a little chuckle, but it was so great to hear, even though it was well past her bedtime!

Oh Carrie, what a rough start to a rough enough day!

Sorry, I've been gone a lot this week still. Ally's just been really needy and isn't really even content in the Moby for long periods of time like she normally is. She's needing my attention and wants to be entertained a lot. Daddy has her right now in the Moby and she's chewing and sucking vigorously on her hand. For those of you waiting for new exercises on the Fitness thread, I'll be giving some cardio/bootcamp style drills this week. Hopefully I'll find some time to post them tomorrow. No BW'ing pics this week, sorry.

Oh and the laughing is sooo much fun! Ally only does the belly laughs when she's sleeping but has her own little giggle when she's awake and happy. It's like she's sucking air in instead of blowing it out in a normal laugh. It comes with a high pitch squeak that always makes me giggle. It's like she gets overly excited and can't get the laugh going in the right direction. :

The insurance adjuster came today to see the damage on my car. He was not at all pleasant and knew nothing about replacing car seats. He said a total of 2 sentences to me the whole time he was here. I guess DH can call and ask the insurance company about it. Hopefully we'll be able to get the go-ahead from the insurance company soon so we can get the car towed to the body shop and I can get my car back! I don't like driving out 3rd car. At least I don't go anywhere very often.

Haha, Nora just started doing a similar laugh -- sucking the air in instead of out! She started doing that like yesterday or the day before! So silly!

That is SO LAME about the insurance adjuster being clueless. I'm bringing my car in tomorrow morning for an estimate. I get a rental car w/my policy but I'm not looking forward to dealing with the hassle! Grr!
