Pentacel and Our Waning Vax Options

I wanted to post this in the main forum to get multiple perspectives from both non-vaxers and selective vaxers.

This probably won't be news to you if you live in Mass:

http://www.patriotledger.com/archive...1996/1-78-H1-j

Two parts of this stand out for me:

Quote:
The federal Centers for Disease Control is requiring every state to begin using the new Pentacel vaccine for some of their immunizations.
I didn't know that the CDC flexed so much muscle over what options we had! Today, they require it of some states. What's to stop them from requiring it in all states?

Also, we get a lot of posts in these forums from delayed/selective vaxing mamas wondering why A) they can't find separate versions of compound cocktails (e.g. M, M, or R instead of MMR) or B) Why their doctors only carry one brand of a vaccine and we're unable to find a more palatable brand (e.g. one of the low-aluminum ones recommended by Bob Sears).

Well, the linked article contains the answer to both of those questions:

Quote:
The committee on vaccine purchase of the state Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics makes recommendations to the state health department about which vaccines to purchase and distribute.
So the AAP, ridden with its unethical conflicts of interest, "recommends" which vaxes states should purchase en masse. That explains why our family doc couldn't get us the low-aluminum DTaP. "We just get what the state sends us."

If the vax pushers have their way, you'll not only lose the option not to vax your children, you'll also lose the option of which vaxes your children get. They're trying to render parents completely powerless

Oh my god, you are kidding me. Bad news for us all. How would one EVER know which of the 5 vaxes (for those who vax one at a time) it was if a baby reacted to that? Thus, one would have to either, keep giving it every 2 months to finish the series (and risk additional, worse reactions) or, skip the rest of the series even though the kid might have been fine with 4 of the vaxes, and only reacted to one. NOT good options here- they are going to force partial/selective vaxers into the non-vaxing category if this comes true.

Their reccomendations are determined by what isin the best interest of their pocketbook...nothing more. This does not suprise me at all. They are totally missing the boat here however. They want 100% compliance. This will never happen, but if they continue to erode parental choitces in terms of selectively vaxing their numbers will go down not up. People will ot out all together the less choices they have, which will result in less money for them...not smart!

Yet another reason to just skip them all.

Anyone else think it's funny that they make a whole new cocktail instead of just making more of the standalone HiB? How are they explaining that is what I want to know.

I also heard that Merck is no longer manufacturing the separate MMR components. Less choices for those that wish to choose which vaccine you inject.

Eyes wide open!!!

THat is so frustrating... I suppose some of us parents and select Docs are just out of line, arent we! So take it away at the source.

Sick, soo sooo sick!

I am in the UK and since 2004 this has been the only option for parents on the NHS. It totally takes away parental choice for those who cannot afford to go private. I think they use Pediacel here but it's the same vaccine (DTap/IPV/Hib).

Right now, it is easy to get any single vaccine privately. My worry is that that could change.

I think there was a thread on this in the selective/delay forum..It's only temporary, they are out of it but will be manufacturing it again this year.

Let me see if I can find it.

They want control over our kids and use them as the dumping ground for their chemicals. The only purpose behind vaccines is money. Certainly not health.

The pharmaceutical conglomerate has been very successful in making us believe that our kids can't live without vaccines. How did we ever get this far? Now they can tell us which ones and how many. After all, who is not going to comply when your child will die without them?

It is a huge money making business. That's all!

A little OT but not much - Did everyone see the video Codex Alimentarius on youtube? Watch it.

I'm in Canada and we were told Pentacel was our only choice. It really helped solidify our decision not to vax. (We've done lots of research since and wouldn't vax now even if we could get them split)

Isn't that ironic? A selective vaxer becomes a non-vaxer when big pHARMa takes away some choices.

You totally misinterpreted their goal.
