Are they all safe for VBAC ?

EPO should be fine, all it does is soften your cervix. It can also be good for softening your scar tissue. I would be leery of cohoshes since I hear they can cause strong contractions.

yes I would avoid cohoshes too. I haven't found any good evidence that EPO works at all, but if it makes you feel better then use it.

With my midwife's guidance I used Wiseways' Motherstar Natural Birth.

I started at 30something weeks using a little. Once I bumped it up, I'd have regular contractions. I think it would have worked.

I was induced due to low fluid. (another topic i'm sure).

Cohashes can increase chances of hemorrhage and cause strong contractions. I would say they are *not* safe.

EPO won't hurt.

I don't know enough about the cohoshes to say anything about them...although I've not heard of them being recommended. Evening primrose should be great for a VBAC, although don't start to use it until you're 37 weeks. It won't induce labor, but shouldn't be used before then. It should help to ripen the cervix so that things move smoothly once your body naturally goes into labor.

I agree with what everyone has said. I used evening primrose oil and feel like it helped (or didn't hurt). The cohosh varieties, however, have major risks.

Hi! I just got the OK from my Dr. to start the EPO today!! I am going for a VBAC+2 so it should be more than safe

FYI: She did tell me not to put it in the vagina though...

Good luck with your VBAC!!! You can do it!!:

Just for future knowledge, since I'm only 32 weeks now and i see that you shouldn't start until 37 weeks, but is there an amout of EPO to take? Do you just find this in a pharmacy?

I'm clueless!

I got the OK from my Dr. to take 1000mg per day orally. You can find it at the pharmacy, Walmart...I bought mine at Target!

~Good Luck!
