hemroids allready!!

Thread Starter
HI, So this is my 5th pregnancy and I did experience veins on my vulva at the end of my 4th PG. I just noticed hemroids for the first time. Not painful but there. I can not believe so early I am only 5 weeks PG. Can the blood volume make that big of a difference allready. What can I do to make them not get so bad? Any help or advise please.
Thanks

Large doses of vitamin C can help shrink hemmerhoids, iirc.

Sorry you're already facing that!

I'm surprised at how quickly things are moving for me, too. I look like I'm about 5 months pg.

Ladies, research Hawthorne extract - it has affinity toward blood vessels, and it helps strenghten them.
Also, Kegels are important.

No straining allowed, when on toillet. Just relax, and relax your jaw, as well.
(Ina May Gaskin's advice)

If you want more info on herbs and sitz baths, let me know!

Another Ina May tip for hemmeriods (and for second stage) is to achieve that relaxed jaw by using "horse lips". You know when a horse blows air out between it's lips (blusters) like this.

I find it can also help to move around on the toilet, bending my body front and back, left and right, just like you'd do with a constipated baby. Massage can also help (always clockwise).

Honestly, this will sound gross but it's awesome. Shred a potato (think hashbrowns...or maybe don't think hashbrowns ) and put them on the 'roid. This actually also works for cuts that are inflamed.

Susun Weed has some great tips in her book "Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year". Great info on how to prevent/treat varicose veins/hemorrhoids/varicosities.

[pages 29-32]

If someone can't find it, and is interested - let me know. I can type up basic info.

Here is a nice article that she wrote on topic "Herbs for Pregnancy".

Take care!
