Can Someone Clarify this law? Does this mean I would need to leave/cover is asked? - Page 2

There is this too:

From VA breastfeeding coalition:

Va. Code 2.2-1147.1 (2002) guarantees a woman the right to breast-feed her child on any property owned, leased or controlled by the state. The bill also stipulates that childbirth and related medical conditions specified in the Virginia Human Rights Act include activities of lactation, including breast-feeding and expression of milk by a mother for her child. (H.B. 1264)

So they would be legally discrimating against you if they asked you to leave. You could tell them they are violating the human rights act.

LLL gives out a little card with the law on one side and a little statement on the other. The few time i've been directly asked to leave or cover up or go in a dressing room/bathroom/car I just said, "no, i'm fine here" in a really friendly voice,a nd even though i got glares and dirty looks, no one did anything. In NY I did have to tell a woman, "I'm fine here, thanks, and I'm protected by law." All with a huge smile on my face.
