I have a small problem with yeast right now and my lact. consult suggested a few creams but I cant find either one. Is any vaginal cream ok. Is there a difference between vaginal cream and a cream for yeast infection??

try asking your pharmacist. I think dr reccmonded 1% climtrazole, which is lotramin and my pharmacist helped me find it with the athlete's foot creams.

What about Genetian Violet? You can get it at most pharmacies.

I second this. It worked well for me, and the horrible pain was gone in 24 hours.

It has the benefit of treating the baby too. I would not want to nurse with the creams mentioned above on my nipples.

Either gentian violet or grapefruit seed extract tend to work best and most quickly. I usually suggest to start with the GSE, since it's less messy (the GV stains everything, including baby's face, dark purple). Hope you get relief very soon!
