am i the only one with PURPLE dryer lint? - Page 2

Mine is typically blue-ish purple too, and aside from one skirt and one or two baby clothes items I don't even own jeans.

Mine's always purple

my kids dad has purple belly button lint. every day, no matter what he wears (and i nor my kids ever have any, period..!)

maybe its just one of those odd things...!!

I think the purple is how black lint looks when it's all fluffed up and not woven into fabric.

I'm pretty sure that's only true if you wash fire-retardant children's PJs. If you instead insist on cotton PJs that say "Not fire retardant- must be worn tight-fitting", then this is probably not the case.

Make sure if you are only washing natural fiber clothes in any load that you make into firestarters. Synthetics can cause toxic fumes when burned.

Ours can sometimes be purple, too. I think it's a mixture of red shirts and blue jeans - but as far as a craft, I'm not sure on that one. H hates it, though, when I clean out the lint tray and stick it on top of the dryer and forget to throw it away. Maybe HE should think of something to do with it besides bark at me! LOL

I have all diff colors of lint but yes, most has a purplish tint to it. Sometimes it's greenish or even whitish gray.

Guess what color your lint is when you wash a set of maroon flannel sheets for the first time??

puuuuurple.

yeah, me too.

I want to stuff a hand made doll with it, but I'm a little nervous. Dryer Lint is very flammable. I've also considered leaving it outside for the birds, composting it, making compostable flower pots for planting season. Paper seems like a fun idea though.

Ours is purple too. Hmm... I never really thought of making something with it. That's an interesting idea. Let us know if you choose a craft, and how it turns out.

We've often got purple lint, but since dh has to wear purple scrubs for work it was never really surprising. I had no idea how common it was for others.

LOL! Mine is almost always pink.

might be nice if it had a purpose, I have extra thick fluffy white lint whenever I wash my diapers, and I know it's 100% cotton.
Mine's usually a gray/blue, most of my clothes are black or blue and I don't have many jeans, so it makes sense.

Sometimes I find little corn kernel shells in there... And I know no one is leaving corn in their pockets. It is definitely diaper residue. Until I don't dry diapers anymore, there's no way the lint is going anywhere but the trash!
