Gifted FOs

I have a couple FOs to share . They have finally been gifted, so I can now put up pictures...

Dashing for FIL - my first attempt at cables, Magic Loop, and thumbs.
Earflap hat for MIL
- we have a pet rabbit that she loves dearly, so I incorporated that into the pattern.
Toddler longies for DS - Peace Fleece, and a bit itchy.
Yuletide Gnome for my mom

I made everything out of stash yarn...and celebrated by buying 8 skeins of sock yarn from knitpicks

Beautiful work! The gnome is beyond cute.

All of those are beautiful! I am always super impressed by any colorwork- it freaks me out. cables- those I can do- but colors- maybe I just need the proper motivation!

And the longies are awesome! They would be so cute with snowflakes- but I see the logic.... DS has some out of PF- of course he doesn't talk much- but I have never heard a complaint on them being itchy I think they get softer with use- and nothing beats thier durability!

This is so weird, I just joined ravelry last week as a truly beginner knitter and my plan this year is to work up to being able to make a pair of dashing fingerless mits for myself (I like them better than the fetching ones, meant for girls).

Your gifts are beautiful!

Thanks everyone!

Funny thing about the gnome...
I named him Nils and sent him to my mom and dad a week before Christmas with a little note, some of it in Swedish, basically saying "Hi my name is Nils, I am a holiday gnome, can I live with you?" Almost everyday they have some little story about where Nils is in the house, what little goofy thing he did, etc. He apparently got into the cabinet on New Years Eve, and found some scotch. My parents are so cute to play along!

Wow! What a lucky family you have! The earflap hat is great! Wash the longies in a good wool wash and they'll soften up immediately, and will continue to soften with wear. It's one of the things I always have to remember about PF--it's kind of a bear to knit with because of that, but on an FO it really "blooms"...
