How much do you sleep?

I have found that even though this sick feeling has mostly gone away, I still sleep, what seems to me, as an excessive amount! Being in my early 20's before the pregnancy I stayed up late/got up early, busy young lifestyle

But now, I feel like all I do is sleep! I took a 2 hour nap yesterday, and still slept 10.5 hours last night! Am I just being lazy? I went through a bought of depression almost a year ago and all this sleep is reminding me of that time.

Is this normal? Do I need to just sleep less and be more active? Or is this really what the baby needs? Thx!

It's normal. I slept 3 hours in the afternoon a few weeks ago and then slept 10 hours that night. It tends to ease up a bit in the second trimester.

I work out regularly and this is my 5th PG and in the first trimester I have always been really tired.

totally normal.

if i didn't have 2 kids i'd be sleeping round the clock. enjoy that first pregnancy when you actually CAN sleep! (oh i miss being able to call in sick to work...)

Enjoy every minute of sleep. I slept constnatly when pregnant with my first. I'd take a 3 hour afternoon nap, wake up to eat then go to bed for the night.

It was wonderful (though it seemed weird at the time). I wish I could sleep half that much, or that well, now.

I am not sleeping enough. I can't. I fall asleep and then get up to pee at least twice and then lie awake. Sometimes I nap in the afternoon. I agree with the others- enjoy your sleep, its perfectly normal!

Ha- I try my best to get 8 hours, but it is hard. Between nights of my 2 year old not sleeping well and my own insomnia, I can usually manage that, but not much more. Some days I nap for an hour when my DD is napping.

With my first pregnancy, I definitely slept more, though I distinctly remember waking up early, whether I wanted to or not. I also took lots of great naps and am finding it difficult to nap now.

I am TIRED!
I sleep at least 8 hours at night. Then I if I don't nap, I nearly literally pass out in the afternoon, so I have been sleeping 1 - 2 hours in the afternoon too.
I feel so guilty and lazy... but I am exahusted

I only get about 5-6 hours of sleep in 24 hours... it really really really sucks

Totally normal! My excessive tiredness is how I knew I was pregnant this time! Enjoy not having another little one to take care of and you can nap!

I'm in bed for 8-10 hours, but I have a 17 month old so it's definitely interupted sleep!

Well I'm glad it's normal and I'm not broken! Thanks ladies! It's so nice to have this board to getting information from! Don't know what I'd do without it!:

I sleep anywhere from 10-11 hours at night and I am still dead on my feet during the day. I work so no nap for me, and when I get home my 2 yr old has soooo much energy it just exhausts me more.

I've been on vacation for the last two weeks, so I haven't been watching the clock, but I would guess I've been sleeping 10-12 hours out of every 24. I caught a cold last week and the first day I was really fighting that I slept all day long. My biggest problem is the decision whether to eat or sleep. Sometimes I'll be soo tired, and even though I had just eaten an hour earlier my grumbling tummy keeps me awake until I give up and grab a snack.

My thoughts exactly!

I agree. It's totally normal.

I get about 10 hours of sleep at night and if it weren't for working during the day, I would probably take a nap in the afternoon's.

I sleep about 8-10 hours/night, too. I am definitely dead tired compared to what I usually am. I don't like naps at all, but I've taken several in this first trimester and probably needed more than that! Sounds like we're all normal!

I sleep a lot. In addition to the 8-10 hours I log at night, for the last three days I have had a 2.5 to 3 hour nap! And I am planning one today, too. : I am so, so bagged all of the time. Plus, I like to "bank" sleep, because I never know when I will be called to a 16-hour labor and be up all night!

I'm sooo tired too. My dh thinks I'm so lazy! But I can't help it - I feel like I'm drugged. I'm 14 weeks now, I thought it would let up by now! I sleep about 10 hours at night and take a 2 hour nap a few days a week. But I still walk around like a zombie.
