Emerson Jo (Emmie Jo) arrived 1/4/09 at 2:08 am after a quick labor & delivery at the hospital. I had been noticing some mucous for a few days, but didn't think much of it. I had an ob appt 1/2 and I was 3cm 60%, so figured it would still be a while (I'd been those stats for a week). Went to a small gathering of friends Saturday night, had fun, left to come home around 10 pm. I noticed a ctrx as we left their driveway, but no biggie, I'd been having lots of them lately. Then another exactly 10 min later....then exactly 10 min later again...hmmmm. We got home, got the kids to bed. I'd had a few more ctrx, but decided to go to bed, blaming them on needing to have a bm (sorry, TMI 
). I woke up 15 min later with a strong ctrx and got my dh and told him we needed to go! We arrived at the hospital at 12:30 am, they skipped triage and got us right into a room. Ctrx were every 4 min, strong, but not unbearable, felt fine between. I was 6-7 cm but baby was still kind of high (-3). I knew things were moving fast, I could feel baby moving down. I started to feel like I would break in two and I just wanted to have her, so they broke my water around 1:30. By 2 I had to push, everyone rushed in, my dr just got his gloves on, 2 intense pushes later and she was born!
A small tear, but doing well. We came home today and my milk came in, so all is going well. My 2 yo is adjusting nicely and my older girls are in love with their new sister and a big help to mom. I asked the 8 yo to hold the baby while I put the 2 yo down for a nap...the 2yo wouldn't settle and the baby wanted to eat, so my 8 yo said she would rock the 2yo...she read her a story and put her to bed! So sweet!
Now I'm off to nap with the wee one. Congrats to all the new mamas, and to those who are waiting--it won't be long now!!
