Hurray!!!

:

We did it! My son is 2.5 years old and rarely watched Teevee! I did just have another baby so 1st tri He watched some Seasme Street, and again the 1st week after this baby was born he did. I was just so exhasuted! But now, babe is 3wks old tommorow, we have a good daily rthyem going on, and we pulled the plug and got rid of it!!

Wow I can't believe how much time we have now to spend as a familiy!! It's like we don't know what's happening around us, we are in our little cozy nest, and that's how we like it! It feels good to have finally "given it up"!!!!

Tell me TeeVee free mamas, how do you like not haveing the boob tube around?

Congrats!

May I ask, why you call it "TeeVee"?

Yay for you!! We have been TV free since DS was born and can NOT imagine going back. We don't miss it a bit. And if DH and I need a media fix we do a Netflix movie on the computer when DS is asleep.

Now after 4.5 years without a TV when I see one at a restaurant or someone's house it's truly maddening.

We've been TV-free for nearly three years and love, love, love it! As another poster mentioned, seeing TVs out drives me insane. My kids are 5 and 2.5, both have been TV-free since birth. I guess it's really been my husband and I that have truly become TV-free. We do watch an occasional movie on our computer, but have given up Netflix. It would annoy me to sit and watch a Netflix that was uninteresting or just poor. Now, I just quit watching something and go do what I would enjoy more (read, clean, go to bed!).

Congrats! I don't think you will regret your decision!

Do what I did trade your current tv for a smaller one (freecycle or something similar) then keep going untill you hve a tiny portable one when you get to that stage you put it in a cupboard and voila tv free

Yay! Good for you!!

Ours is going after the inauguration I want to watch that on the full screen.

We'll still have our portable DVD player so I can do my exercise videos in the living room (where there's room) and DH and I will watch Netfilx movies on the computer in our room at night occasionally. So it won't be totally screen free for us though.

I'm so excited to get that space back (where the TV is now). We live in a small apartment and have been struggling to find a spot that works well for a nature table. Guess what the TV stand's going to become?!
