I wanted to know if this question was allowed? wasnt sure....

If so, I was born and raised in Texas. I live near the mexico border/near south padre island now. as a kid i lived in ca and nm too.

i love that the weather -mostly tropical , pretty low cost of living, not overpopulated, 40 min from beach, great place to raise a family, everyone is laid back, and even though we are anglo i love the hispanic culture here, super friendly.

i dislike the hurricanes, and we dont really have "seasons". Also my family is in tx but still 4 and 11 hours away!

what about you? what do you like/dislike about the area in which you live?

I live in Virginia. I like the 4 seasons, the beautiful mountains and ocean on the other side. I love how rural it is, yet also within 2 hours of the DC metropolis. I dislike the humidity in the summer, and the horrible seasonal allergies.

I'm from Cleveland, OH.
The nice (and bad) thing about living here, is that if you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes, it will change!
We have a slushy winter here from October to April!

I am near Toledo Ohio (Hi Michelle!) grew up in Sandusky Ohio.

I love being near the lake in the summer, Cedar Point, The Toledo Art Museum and the Zoo. A great Community foundation/natural playground we can bike to, good library system. in the last few years through MDC we have great local AP groups, cloth diapering groups, babywearing groups, wonderful doula network, etc.

I hate the cold, hate it hate it hate it. I want to live somewhere where a cold day is sixty degrees. I hate ice, I hate snow, I hate feeling cold. DH and I are both stuck here for the next 15 years because of our ex's, they will not move with us and they also will not give up shared custody to let us move witht he kids. and abviously we love our kids more than we hate cold weather Edited to add: I don't blame them for not giving up the kids, just realized that came across as very bitter. I do wish that all 3 of our households could agree to a warm locale together though!

I live in Boulder, Colorado. It is stunning. Beautiful. A great place to raise children. Always sunny. Never cold for more than a couple days in a row. The mountains are amazing. So many outdoor activities. The people are educated, open minded, friendly, and liberal.

I grew up in Chicago where it was way too cold or too hot and I felt very different and liberal compared to everyone around me.

I'm in St. Louis, MO. It's a great place to raise a family - lots of free activities, great schools, very "community" feel, etc.

It's cold right now. I don't do cold. At all. Of course, we keep our house at 61 degrees so I'm pretty much cold October - March.

I'm currently in the FL panhandle but my dh is in the military and we will only be here another year or so. We are both from Atlanta, GA. I thought summers there were hot until we moved here! The weather is great here when it's not summer. Definitely not a crunchy area and I drive 30 min to the grocery store, but it's short term so okay with me. There is a homebirth mw here and that is what matters as far as the pregnancy goes!

I live in the DC metro area. I dislike the extremely high cost of living and the unfriendliness of the people here. I do like the museums (all free!) and take DS to a Smithsonian every Friday.

Originally, I'm from Texas and we're considering a move back there at the end of the summer...just in time for the baby. It will be an interesting time.

I live in southern Indiana.
I love it. The only things I don't like is it get's really humid in the summer and cold in the winter.

I live in Virginia and for the most part, I really love it. I'm not really liking this cold weather right now, but it's really nice here in the spring and fall.

I grew up in Flint, MI. I miss the snow and actually cold weather.

Now I live in NC and HATE the hot hot summer. I'm wondering how I will deal with being big and pregnant in the hottest moths of the year.

i live in rural nova scotia, canada. i love our seasons. despite not loving the cold and snow, i do find the changes in the natural world comforting. i also love living in a rural area. i didn't always feel that way, and spent many years travelling and living in cities, but i've moved back to 'the country' and am loving it more each day.

i live in Chicago and have for about 12 years. i grew up in Md. though near Baltimore.

likes; urbane, culture, diversity, restaurants, friends, lake michigan and public lake front, skyline.

dislikes; weather especially cold winters, traffic, far from family, far from mountains and ocean or anything for that matter, i hate we have to drive so far to get to good stuff, on the east coast everything is closer together.

I live in new england and love it. I love our warm summers and freezin winters. I love our muddy mushy smelly springs and out crisp colorfull autumns. I would love to get out of the particular area Im in simply because of crime and influence, lack of like minded peoples and general closed minded ness but I do love new england weather

Waving from just south of Raleigh, here! I grew up in NY state (near Albany) but I've been in NC ten years come May. I LOVE the lack of snow and the mild winters (though did you see WRAL is predicting only 33 as a high on Wednesday and in the low 20s on Saturday???), but the heat and humidity combo in the summer is killer.

Piper was born at the end of July, so I was big and fat and pregnant with her here then. I couldn't make it the 15 feet from my house to my car without sweating. And of course now we get to do it again all the way through to September. Though about our due dates it'll be cooling off. My due date is my DH's birthday (9/19) and he grew up mostly in NC, and he always said that around his birthday it got nice again. He's been pretty right, IME.

Are you on trianglemommies.com at all? I don't see PinkBruise as a username there. I'm there, as wendytthomas.

Born/raised in DC, just moved to Boston from USVI a little more than a year ago.

I'm ambivalent about Boston itself; it doesn't feel like a city to me, but we've made some terrific friends here. I'm homesick for the Caribbean a lot, too.

I love the four seasons, though I hate, HATE dealing with snow in the city. If it were up to me I'd be in the country constantly attached to some skis or snowshoes all through winter. As it is, we have to make do with getting up to New Hampshire or Maine as many weekends as possible.
