Where are you from? like/dislikes? - Page 2

I live in Calgary, Canada. I like the rivers and pathways that run through the core of the city, and I like how the sun is almost always shining. I don't like how cold it can get here in the winter, and how much urban sprawl has developed in the last few decades.

I'm from New Mexico and we move constantly it seems like (military). DC, VA, CA, MD, and now NC. Whew.

I was born and raised in North Carolina and have lived in Carrboro (NC) for 14 years. I love it in that I'm walking distance to the local co-op and trails. I DON'T like hot weather! When we've traveled to Europe I've fantasized about how wonderfully COLD it is there for the winter (the winters here are a joke). I love wearing scarves and hats but it seems ridiculous to wear those items around here

I'm from Floyd Va, but I now live in Greensboro NC. I love summer and going to the beach...I dislike really cold weather.

I'm from Iowa and have lived here almost all my life. I love the 4 distinct seasons, sweet corn fresh from the field for two weeks in August... I hate the 100+F/~100% relative humidity in the summer, the -30F in the winter.

I hate that the only legal MWs are CNMs and that there is only one in my area. I love that there are sling wearing, cloth diapering, breastfeeding mamas in my area.

I am ready for a change, but with the rising unemployment rate and dh having a good job, I really can't justify a jump right now. Of course, if his employer transfers him, we will go.

I'm not far from Montreal, living in a new-built house in the country. (Hubby spent 2 years w/hammer and nail, etc...) Our little town is almost a resort town, and full of friendly ppl I know well. We went on vacation last summer and realised the spot we picked was pretty much identical to our home town! Sailing, camping, woods, etc... except without running into my relatives at the grocery store.

I love how multicultural Montreal is. We have great food, great people, great entertainment. It's a super fun city. I love the english/french culture and culture clash, and I love the bilingualism. I've sometimes gone 20 minutes in a conversation with someone in french before we both realise we're anglophone and switch to english. lol

I also like that the seasons change here- makes you appreciate them more, but could do without the brutal cold. Today is -33 celcius. (-27.4 F) And while snow is pretty and nature is incredible, the havoc it can create for my drive to work in the morning totally sucks. I'm also really sick of getting stuck in the snow/on the ice in my own driveway!!!!

Not this weekend it won't. Get them out!!! I wish tomorrow was Saturday so I didn't have to take Piper to school and I could sleep in. LOL Skip this weather. I hate the cold.
