So many of my friend's kids have asthma, I wonder if its linked to all these home fragrance products?
I've never been officially diagnosed with asthma or even allergies to those plugins or similar. But I had a sore throat, water eyes and a cough every single time I visited my grandmother's house. She had a different scented plugin in every room. It was horrible. I felt like those nasty things were attacking me. I also have had to wash everything she's every given my children 3 or 4 times b/c of the smell. My dad finally had a talk with her as she wasn't listening to me and I refused to go over there again.

OP, I toss apple peels and a bit of cinnamon or nutmeg into a saucepan with water and boil as well.

Oh, and whomever mentioned potpourri... I am allergic to that stuff as well. Even just going to the restroom when someone has a dish of it will cause me to sneeze the rest of the day.
