How much time do you spend reading?

Let's not count reading posts of MDC.

I typically get in 10-20 minutes in the morning and then about 30 minutes at night.
In the morning, I read something spiritual and then I read the newspaper while I eat breakfast. I can do this as a mother of teens.

At night I read a book as long as I can keep my eyes open.

Oh, good question. Actual print media, not the internet?

Not nearly enough, lately.

I get a half hour to an hour of reading during naptime most days, and read myself to sleep for an hour or so every night. Once or twice a week I enjoy a 2-3 hour bath, which is all about uninterrupted reading time (paperbacks only)

I often read when I eat lunch or dinner, except when we do family meals. So add another half hour a day.

I also spend 30-45 min a day reading to my children. They have started reading and pretending to read to each other more, which warms my heart and leaves me more time for mama books :

I'd say 30 minutes to an hr. Usually before I go to bed. If it's a book I cannot put down, I might stay up super late reading it until I'm done.

Before children, 5-10 hours a day but that included being a student of literature. :

After children, 1-3 hours a day when I'm home with them. (That's an average--it varies from week to week).

I try to get in 45 minutes a day during the week (I read during my lunch break). I rarely get a chance to read at home though- sometimes before bed. I wish I had more time to read. I could read a book in a day back in the day. Most of my reading now involves DS and a lot of Dr Seuss books!

Usually 2 hours a day. I work late, and my husband is usually in bed when I get home, so I have a good 2 hours there. During the winter, I usually get in another hour or so in the afternoons, but not so much in the spring/summer.

Some days 2+ hours, other days none at all.

I take a book to dd's classes (she's homeschooled but takes a few classes, some weekly, some monthly) and read then. So 45 min to an hour, depending on the class.

I like to read at night for about an hour. Sometimes, if I'm REALLY into the book and push myself, I will stay up for two hours or more.

I don't know.
I'm always reading something.
I pick up a book and read it throughout the day- a few minutes in the bathroom, while eating breakfast, in the tub, while cooking dinner, at night, etc.
It usually finish a book in 1 or 2 days.

I morn the weekends of reading all day long...

Now, sometimes I'll read for 30 - 45 min at night before I make myself go to sleep. I don't like to do that, though, because by then I'm just getting into it and don't want to stop.

When DS was a newbie, it used to take him 45 minutes to an 1 1/2 hours to nurse down at night, so I would sit there in the dark with my book and a reading light, oh-so-quietly turning the pages. I got a lot of reading done then.

It depends...sometimes if I just can't find something I can get into I won't spend a minute reading...sometimes for weeks. But if I find a book/series that I like or manage to snag a book by a favorite author...boy-howdy...my hubby needs to take a picture of me without my eyes darting left to right a million miles an hour to remember what I look like. Those time I can spend HOURS a day reading. I read the last HP book in a day I've been known to blow through the latest in a chick-lit series in a single trip to the city (read in car there and back).

I'm trying to get 'better' about reading a little bit each day...but my house suffers so much when I get into a book I have to space my reading binges out a bit

I really have to limit my before bed reading...I have to be up at 5am for work so late nights plus still night-nursing 1 y/o plus waking up at 5am equals VERY VERY VERY tired mama

About an hour before bed, reliably. Then there's the occasional rainy day where I get to sit on the couch with a book all day. Baby #1 is due any minute now, though, so I'm expecting that to change. Although, reading to the baby will count too, right?

I always read before going to bed, so depending on the book - and how exhausted I am - that might be 4 minutes or 45 minutes.

Over the course of a week I probably read 3 or 4 hours, if we're just talking about print media.

I probably read on MDC about 10 hours a week.

Actual books, not news or other stuff, I read about 2-3 hours on the average day, rarely less and occasionally much more.

I'd have more time to read books if I spent less time reading message boards.

These days? I'd say somewhere around an hour to two hours a day. I used to be reading pretty much all the time when I wasn't at work. These days, it's while I'm doing dishes, or in the tub or whatever. I also read while I cook dinner and a few other things.

Losing time to read is the one thing I really don't like about having kids.
