Fess-up: What are you already shopping for? - Page 2

I got some teeny tiny newborn clothes during the after Christmas sales and a couple of blankets. And I've bought some fabric to make a new quilt with. All of our cloth diapers are in the way back of our storage space. I'm going to wait a few months before we go digging them out to see what we need to replace. I know some of the elastic is gone, but I can fix a lot of that. I'm looking forward to our tiny kissaluv 0s coming back out. Yay fluff!

I picked up a few newborn mutts and will grab some premie prefolds in a co-op since apparently I grow small babies and even the infant seemed to large. We can always use them to clean with later I want to get some goodmamas from the sale but waiting for my dependent care reimbursement before I have the cash. Hope the sale is still on then.

I need to buy summer maternity clothes since we will be going to Jamaica in early February and I have nothing that will fit by then.

I have winter maternity clothes but may need a new turtleneck or something cause I am freezing.

That is pretty cool!! We don't really have a crib and its nice to have a place to put the little bean, and using it as a changer too is fantastic...

Other than that, so far just a pair of Old Navy walking/yoga pants since my belly is getting big already but I didn't keep any "early preggo/post birth" pants after dd2 (just the "mid-late preggo pants). I probably wont get anything else till June-ish.

We will need a new packNplay or co-sleeper (we gave away our old pack/play and when our barn flooded the arms reach co-sleeper got wrecked) though I would loooooove one of those baby hammocks instead. We share a family bed but I prefer to have a seperate sleep surface for the new babe for the first month or two and for naps.

Let's see... we still have a little bouncer chair (a life saver to keep in the bathroom!), a boppy, plenty of blankets and dribble rags, we use prefolds and covers and have plenty of those (though they certainly aren't cute anymore ). We'll need some newborn outfits but those are 25cents at our local thrift store so I'm not too worried about those yet. We have an ergo (this will be the third babe to use this ergo, so totally worth the money!) and a soft "papoose" style carrier for the newborn weeks, as well as my beloved ring sling for keeping in the car/backpack.

I've never had a "summer babe" but I have winter outerwear/boots that should fit them when the time comes and if it's a girl plenty of ready to go "non-newborn" outfits from dd1 and dd2. (most of these are hand me downs from a friend with very "girly" tastes so if it's a boy I'll have to get some dye and he'll be wearing a lot of purple and brown since just about everything we've been gifted is pink)

Hmmm... I did buy some yarn to make a baby blanket or teddy bear doll. I saw a cool book with nursing sweater designs (and there's a nursing cami top on knitty) that I might ask DH to get for me as a gift, I don't know though... I've had a lot of luck just using a nursing tank top under a regular shirt/sweater so I don't know if I have the energy to knit a whole sweater that wont meet a real need, you know?
Wombatclay! I remember you from the June due date club of 07! Wow!

I have been given a pack of newborn diapers and an adorable polo girl newborn dress. I was bummed about the girlie outfit- jinx!

The first thing I will buy will be a baby hammock. Narrowing down between The Miyo, Amby, and Hushamok.

I am pretty sure I am going with The Miyo- because of weight and look!

I am also going to buy a new car seat.

That is about it, besides diapers. This is number 3 and we are not finding out the sex. So if it is a girl, she will be in blue for a bit, and if it is a boy we are set!!!!

I just had to have the Wooden Sleigh Co-sleeper last time. A very expensive and useless thing, lol. We ened up using it to trow clothes in. The hammocks are really tempting me, but I know we'll never use it. I am just going for a simple foam thing to put on top of our bed to position the baby.

I also had to have the Svan Baby High Chair last time. Again, another not-so-smart buy. Back then there was no plastic cover, so the tray became splintered and worn very quickly. It also was just not practical for a baby. This time I will get a nice big wooden one with a plastic tray.

NB/small fitteds and NB/SM/MED interlock wool pants.

You guys are tempting me on the hammocks! I saw this one a bit ago and I am thinking of adding it to my wish list since I don't plan on making any big purchases for a while, since I still have a room to empty and paint first!

I've looked at these, too--I didn't know they sold on etsy! If you go to Kanoe's website, they also offer them for rent. Since I don't know how much I would actually use it (it seems like a great idea, but I have a habit of not actually putting the baby *down* very often!), and since I don't plan to have any more babies after this one, that's a sort of alluring option for me. It's cool--you pick the color and they send you a brand new one. You rent it month-by-month (of course you can decide at any time to just pay off the balance and keep it). And then you send it back and they donate it to "orphanages or other charities." It's pretty cool.

Aww!!! Those hammocks look really neat, but our goofy deaf boxer dog Anya would probably "rock the cradle" a little too much. We need super sturdy baby furniture, lol!

I bought a onesie, a hat, and socks that match (girly) at the huge Gymbo sale last night and I also bought a boyish hat too I think it is a girl but hey, if I'm wrong, I'll give the outfit to someone else :

I want an Amby baby hammock this time SO BADLY.

And I have no maternity clothing. Oops.

I couldn't resist tricky matching t-shirts for the big and little beans from mamabargains.

I'm in the throes of the hammock question myself. From Nicky I had this cosleeper and this Happy Hangup hammock. She almost never used the cosleeper, and the hammock has held only novelty value so far. I think it'll be a bigger hit when she can get in and out by herself. For now, not sure if I lose the cosleeper and try an Amby or similar for #2 to maybe not sleep in our bed always. This quandary was actually the round-the-world-and-back-again way in which I told my mother I was pregnant.

NOTHING!!!!!
I'm holding out until I find out if this babe is a girl. I've got everything I need for a boy for every age/season since ds1 is a summer babe and ds2 is February. I still have some nb fluff but I haven't decided on what I want to go with. last time I used KL0's and pattynaps. I use sposies for the first bit because the washer/dryer is in the basement and I don't have the energy for the stairs. plus, we usually have to use premie dipes for the first 2 weeks.

We love our Svan high chair, but we never used the tray so maybe that's part of it. I liked that it could pull right up to the table. Our four year old still sits in it and I'm debating whether to buy another one or to try and transition ds out of it.

I'm feeling much the same, but for the opposite reason. I have a girl and I bought way too much, so I don't need anything for a girl, but if we have a boy we'll need clothes and stuff.

However there are some things I'll need no matter what. I definitely want to get a double stroller even if I'm wearing the baby it's nice to have a safe place to set the baby down if I need to when we're out and about. I also want to get a bucket carseat this time. I don't think we'll take it out of the car much, but if the baby is sleeping and we're somewhere where I won't be walking around I don't want to wake him/her up and resettle him/her in the sling. We never had one with dd, but I might feel a greater need for convenience with #2. I also want a new ring sling because the first one I had was super frumpy and I didn't like it. I ended up borrowing a friends Maya wrap which I loved, but she wanted it back, so now I don't have one. I guess there are quite a few things I want for this baby. I really wanted an amby for dd, but didn't get one and I'm undecided on whether to get one for this babe. I think I may want a cosleeper also just because the bed is already really crowded with me, dh and dd and I just want a safe place to put the baby so s/he isn't squished by a squirmy, active toddler.

Nothing really yet. With a boy and a girl both with Aug and Oct birthdays, I don't feel like I need a thing babywise. I have some CDs but prefer prefolds and have loads of those so I'll really just need to buy some snappis and knit up a few soakers. I am definitely aware of my continual thought of "this is my last pregnancy, i don't want to spend any money", whereas with my first two, i felt like it was okay to buy things because i knew they'd be used again.

i have just ordered some maternity pants however, as i'm squeezing into my jeans and keeping them low to wear them. i think i must wear 1-2 pairs of pants for an entire pregnancy and them trash them because I loads of tops/dresses and absolutely no bottoms. I went shopping the other day (I'm in the UK) and seriously, the maternity jeans/pants here look like skinny pants with a belly pouch - I'm slim and couldn't fit into them nonpregnant!

not buying here either...too sick to get exited...too broke as well.

I will drag dh to goodwill and once upon a child this weekend to find some maternity clothes.
we need newborn stuff because my sil accidentally donated the bag with all of my 0-3 mos and maternity clothes....

when ds was small I tied my didy wrap diagonaly accross his crib as a hamock...worked well for naps

would love an amby, but wil have to settle for sidecaring the crib.
we have a double bed with 3 already. ds has a toddler bed beside our bed, but barely uses it.

I have plenty of newborn prefolds, need covers....time to cut up sweaters!

I gave away most of my stuff as i was done having babies - then i changed my mind....oops.
so i am gathering second hand stuff from friends and family. I am fine if its a girl as my SIL has a little girl and will pass everything to me. I need a car seat, and maybe a pram type thing for walking round the park (my back hurts if i sling for too long). I have a treadmill that i purchased unwisely last year for loads of money, going to see if someone wants to swop it for some baby stuff.
What i would like to buy is this http://www.welovefrugi.com/baby-clot...ows/product/55

I have an amby baby hammock - it is fantstic, it has been used by a couple of people inbetween my babies, hope it is still in good condition.

but i've not brought anything yet, waiting to see what i can get for free.

This is the only reason why I wish I did not co-sleep.
