Proof of pregnancy

So DH and I are filling out our FMLA paperwork and need that danged piece of paper that certifies that I'm indeed pregnant and have a due date (making a huge scene in the HR office won't cut it). I'm also a whopping 27 weeks along so not really wanting to get the spiel about medicalized prenatal care and dead babies.

What did you do to get that piece of paper?

I went to the health department for proof of pregnancy and they didn't say anything about it (I was 24 weeks.) Maybe the nurse I had just didn't care

Planned Parenthood or some other type women's clinic will also give you a paper, and many times it is free. The WIC department some places does. Any doctor or clinic that you can go to to get a test done will do the same thing. There are tons of options. Hope you find one right for you.

You could send a pos. pregnancy test

This may be a stretch, but where I live a local college has a Community Nurses Clinic, run totally by nurses. Best care I ever had in a medical facility. Cheapest too. I am sure you could get something there.

Look up your local crisis pregnancy center- they do free proof of pregnancies all the time, and some even have u/s if you want it.

When I called for my state for the birth certificate stuff they said a pregnancy test from a clinic would work. Well not the test, jsut a note saying I had had one on this date and I was due on this date. They knew I was already pregnant (like 35 weeks ) but it didn't matter. In the end I was able to use my one and only u/s pics. When they lost those I was able to use a signed and dated letter on letterhead from WIC saying I had brought in a newborn baby to get weighed and measured.

this is what i did, i got a us there. has my name, and date on it. if thats not proof, im kinda screwed. though they did a preg test this time, too...

Saw a midwife and she wrote it up (gave me a pregnancy test). Ended up not even needing it.

I got mine at a local health clinic.

I went into the health dept for one a good ways into pg. I told her I was there for proof for insurance and she didn't say anything about it.

What I wound up doing was going to my local Planned Parenthood. They did a pee test and a little "counseling". Just asked me if I was planning to keep the baby, then if I was taking prenatals and if my PCP is aware that I'm pregnant. Was all just simple yes/no questions with no follow up inquiries. $15 later (plus $4 to feed the parking meter downtown) and I had my piece of paper, pretty painless
