Banana leaf

So since I'm allergic to bananas, do you think I'd be allergic to banana leaves? I'm half tempted to try them and find out (my allergy is more annoying than life threatening- causes mild hives and upset stomach).

Well, I think that the fruit of the plant and the leaves will have different chemicals in them, so it might be ok....

That said, I don't think I would chance it. Although your reaction isn't severe, hives are a sign of an anaphylactic reaction, and each ana reaction can get progressively worse until they are life-threatening.
