Great new one!

I'm still planning on ttc in June or July 2009. I can finally say "it's THIS YEAR!"

5 more periods to go!

Can you add me to the list please, for summer 09?

What are you all trying to do to prepare yourself or your life for ttc, pregnancy and a new baby? Can we share some tips please?

It took a while, but I went through and deleted everyone who I could tell was ttc, pg, or hadn't logged into MDC for more than 6 months. If I erased you by mistake, post or PM me and let me know. If your info is wrong or you want to be added, let me know too.

Congrats, I'm jealous! I still have another year until that's true for me.

Compared to what I did before we conceived DS, not much! I've been doing a lot of planning on paper recently (finances, lists of what stuff we will need, what we'll need to do, etc.) and have been doing a little research. I'm feeling like I really want a girl next time, so I've been looking into natural ways to impact gender.

Other than that, we're just living our life - still settling into our house we moved into in the fall and getting our mini-farm started. I ordered chickens yesterday and plan to order seeds for our soon-to-be garden later today!

We are going to TTC in 2011/2012, so right now I'm just doing a lot of reading on safe pregnancy/birth with thrombophilia, parenting more than one child, freelancing opportunities, and becoming a SAHM. A lot of financial planning going on now too.

Looking forward to my "retirement" and subsequent new career. :

Can you add me? I have surgery later this month and we will TENTATIVELY start trying in Feb or March. Thanks!

Can you add me too? We won't be trying until towards the end of 2009. I'm hoping for a late spring baby in 2010.

Hello

Could I be added too?
I am wanting but waiting, due to several reasons we cannot start TTC our 3rd and final child until April of this year...not too long too go...just 4 more cycles.
In the meantime we are charting to avoid.

I am here and counting down the months! It looks like we will be TTC in April/May...not much longer! As for preparing, I am trying to lose about 15 lbs., work out regularly, cut out caffiene, take my prenatals, and generally trying to be as healthy as possible.

You've all been added.

I'm joining in....
We're very much wanting....but most likely waiting until sometime in mid to late 2010. We have insurance to get straightened out and we want out of this apartment before we start.

I understand WHY we must wait.....but that doesn't make the waiting any easier!
May I join too? I want(95% of the time!)but need to wait. I want to wait until DD is a bit older and DH is completely onboard! He goes back and forth. If we do TTC it will be later this year, I'd love to consider a homebirth this time too. If we agree to TTC, I would want to have this baby before I'm 40! So I've got a little time..
Thanks and hi to all

I just had a baby back in September, so I definitely need to wait a bit! lol. I was thinking I wanted to get pregnant in July of this year, but really thinking about it, I don't think i'll be ready then. Also, DH deploys mid 2010 for 6 months and I don't want to be stuck home with two kids! So, I was thinking more of either TTC right before he leaves, or TTC right when he returns in early 2011 (although that would make DD 3 around the time of #2's birth! So hopefully i'll get pregnant on the first try like I did last time.) I for sure want DH around for the birth this time. He was deployed last time, and it was SO hard.
Hello. We will TTC in June 2009 when DH returns from deployment. We considered TTC beforehand, but he deployed at my third month last time and so was gone for the majority of my pregnancy and for the birth. I am NOT doing that ever again. Especially already having a child.

Thus far, my preparations have been shamelessly materialistic. When I heard about the Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act of 2008 and the ramifications its going to have on natural toys (Selecta, and others, not selling toys in the US after Feb 2009), I decided I had better get them now.

I'm slowing implementing more physical exercise and better nutrition, and am also taking pre-natal vitamins.

Hi everyone! I'm Melissa, married with two girls (ages six and one) - Sihaya, I was actually in the December 2007 DDC with you, but I never ended up posting very much.

I'm very much wanting but waiting right now. I'm graduating from university this spring (BScN - Nursing) and I need to work at least 600 hours to qualify for maternity leave here in Canada.

My husband is having mixed feelings about #3 because our second dd is very intense, very high needs (she has GERD and undiagnosed sensory issues), and I definitely understand where he's coming from.

So, we are most likely waiting until the fall to TTC; I have an IUD right now, and will get it removed at the end of the summer.

Happy to join you all!

I'm also wanting but waiting. My DS will be 2 next month, and dd is 4. DH and I are both in school, and i"ve got the baby bug bad.

I'm with you on that one! Same thing happened to me as happened to you, He left for deployment at the 3 month mark and came home 2 weeks after she was born. It was so hard! Every time I looked at my belly i'd think about how he wasn't going to see it. And of course every time she kicked i'd think about how he was never going to feel her kick. It nearly broke my heart! But I keep my fingers crossed : that he'll be around next time! If we get pregnant right before he leaves, he'll be back when i'm 6 months along and get to be around for the kicking and all the fun parts. And of course if that doesn't work out, we'll just TTC when he gets home.

Hi funfunky, yes, same here. DH came home about two weeks after the birth. But he was supposed to be home for it, and would have been had I not been induced early due to a complication.

I thought the same thing about getting pregnant right before he left and we almost TTC then. It just makes sense in order to maximize his time with the baby (instead of using it during the pregnancy) before he has to go on deployment again. But I decided that I'd better make sure the DD that is already here is taken care of as best possible, and to me that means having him here to take up the slack if I needed. As the last time I was pregnant was truly awful. I am NOT one of those glowing pregnant women that skip lightly through the aire as they walk and talk, as though they were 15 and in love and have all the energy in the world.

No no, I was quite the opposite of that vision. So I decided at the last minute to wait until he gets back. This way, if I need to sleep, or don't feel well, or am homicidal, he can hang out with our precious DD while I hide out in self-imposed seclusion. I literally did everything *by myself* last time, was even alone during the birth (by choice, stupid I know). This time he's going to be there for as much of it as possible!

Wow, I guess i was a bit luckier than you. My mom came to help out when I was 7 months pregnant. I was at the point then where I could no longer take care of myself and was more than grateful for her to be there. I pretty much gave up walking from that point on. I rode the little electric carts even at the grocery store. When I tried to stand for more than a few minutes I was in such pain that I started having BH contractions. lol. I figured it was better to just sit. It was great to have my mom around though. She even helped out with the baby once I had her. Oh, but the hospital stay was awful. I was alone in the hospital with a newborn and hadn't a clue what to do with her. It still haunts me to this day. *sigh* I'm NOT going through that again.

Apologies to anyone who tried to PM me and got a message that my box was full. My subscription ran out this morning. I have re-subscribed now, so you can send your PM again or just post here. I have added everyone who posted up to this point.

mysticmomma - Do you know when you'll be ttc (even just the year)?

nursemummy - Hi! I remember you

Hi all. We fit the title of this thread. We're avoiding for a lot of reasons, mainly due to having a special needs child and the financial and emotional strain that has put on our family. Our boys are 3 years and 19 months (September 2005 and June 2007)

We don't have plans right now for when we'll try, we just know that we do want one more. Badly.

Someone in the CTA thread directed me here. Seems like great support for those in the same boat.
