Governor signs breastfeeding bill

In a victory for families in Massachusetts, Gov. Deval Patrick today signed An Act to Promote Breastfeeding. The bill explicitly protects a mother’s right to nurse her baby in public....

I hope so. I called his assistant about an hour ago (one of them), and she told me he hadn't yet signed it.

Maybe he signed it right after my email and phone call, lol.

I heard it on the news today! I am so so excited :
Of course now my baby is getting old enough that he doesn't want to NIP all the time. But honestly when he was little it did put me off. I moved from Colorado (where they have such a law) and couldn't believe MA didn't. Of course I still nip'ed - just more likely to think twice before doing so, or do do so in the car.
Now I'm good to go :

Hey, progress is progress!!!!! I work for the state, and when I had Jordan and Dillan, we received absolutely NO maternity leave. None. I used a combination of sick leave and vacation leave to take off time for the girls, and even then, I only stayed home 4 weeks. I just found out that we not get two paid weeks. That might not seem like much, but that's two weeks of sick time that I don't have to take. And the union is working to increase the two weeks to four paid weeks!!! :

Mass. ain't so bad anymore!!!
