4 months WBV...

So, I'm doing the WBV's so we have it on file in case they ever claim we are bad parents and want to send CPS after us. That said, we're military. The doc himself doesn't administer vaccines, it's a separate vax clinic they have, so I'm sort of safe from vaccines being administered without my consent (I just don't go there :P)

He said he sticks with the CDC, but accepts delaying (which is what we do for now, but if we will never feel comfortable with it, we won't vax at all). He surprisingly said that the risk of contracting one of the VPD's is really low, and then said as it is to have an adverse reaction (I think however he grossly underestimates those reactions). Then the issue was done. He said however that starting this year they want the AAP refusal form signed - I stated right away I won't and rather bring my own form if they need something on file (like the form from insidevaccines.com).

The most shocking things I read though then on that hand-out they give to everyone... Like letting baby cry it out and that you have to have baby sleep in his own room so you get some sleep?!?!?!?! And that we should start rice cereal (though he said I shouldn't). Those handouts looks as if they are 100 years old (typewriter typed!).

Why don't you make up a brochure for him as an exemple of what he could be passing out.

They may want the form, but it's not as if a military Dr. can fire you.

It is so sad because people just blindly trust someone with an MD after their name.

Typewriter? For real? Does he have an 8 track player?

After I told what happened to hubbie, he thinks I shouldn't sign anything, not even an amended form. Since I'm not legally obliged to sign it, I shouldn't do it.... And as pointed out, it's the military, they can't fire me, and if they do so, they have to give us a referral to a civi pediatrician/family doctor/whoever I pick

Yeah those handouts are terrible... They handed them to us since the first check up.... I read them for fun... I'd love to put a note in their suggestion box that they should update that form, but I worry that my English will give away that it was me... (okay, there's no accent on paper, but I do use funny sentence constructions apparently according to hubbie)

We will move in June to WY and medical records are hand carried. I can't wait to see what it says in the records.... Non-circ, no-vax, no vit-k, no eye-drop baby with parents who refused repeated bilirubin blood screens (we could tell back then that he ate just fine and we exposed him to sunlight - he did fine and didn't need every 48 hours blood screens that hurt his feet!).

Wow, we're a military family and never dealt with a doctor that was that open minded. I always end up listening to lectures or stop debating after 10 minutes when doctors tell me the most important thing they can do for kids is check their growth and give out shots. :Puke Ugh. :

Whenever we move, we try to make an effort to live far away from the base to get a civilian doctor, but now that we're in Korea I don't think that's a choice.
