# of weeks...why am I so confused!

I've been pregnant twice before, loosing both a few days after AF was due. So I never really counted the weeks of pregnancy. So my LMP was Nov 27, that makes me 5 weeks 5 days today right? So does that mean, 5 weeks completed and I am almost done my 6th week? When I read about the development of the baby am I looking at information for week 5 or 6?
I also only O'd on the 14th of Dec (CD18)...However, I did get a pretty strong BFP on CD 10, so I'm assuming little bean implanted relatively early..

Doctor's will go by your LMP but I think it's more accurate to go by O date. By a doctor's standards you would be 5 weeks 5 days which would mean you are a full 5 weeks pregnant and IN your 6th week (look at week 6 of development for baby). By your O date you would be 5 weeks 2 days which would still mean you are a full 5 weeks pregnant and IN your 6th week (and still looking at week 6 of development for baby). Does that make sense?

O date is more accurate, but doctor's will only go by LMP for some odd reason, believing that every woman has a regular 28-day cycle. Go figure.
