Networking.....AKA I need to find a job in Little Rock

I am feeling time slip away as my move date draws closer......so I decided to reach out to my online community. Networking is still the best way to get a job, so I am networking.

I have signed up with several temp/staffing services and I have also sent resumes in response to online and classified ads. I have my resume on Facebook, and I've tried to form a social network there, but it's hard to do from a distance.

If you have any recs for staffing services or places to work, please let me know. I can find insurance relatively cheap if I need to go work for a small business, but I have to make at least what I'm making now to survive being a single parent. It's a slightly higher COL there, so more than I make now would be better.

I need some help. The plan was not to move until this summer but if an opportunity comes along, I can't risk waiting and losing out. HELP!

Good luck! I don't check in here often enough so I'm just seeing your posts. What type of work are you looking for?

I am currently in HR, doing mostly payroll and some HR functions. If I can find a job doing what I'm doing now where there's a real chance for me to move up and learn new things, I'll probably stick with it and work on a BBA while I'm working. Otherwise, I'm going to nursing school and HR be damned.

In my current position/company, there just isn't a lot of room for upward mobility. The interview I have Friday is basically the exact same job I have now, but the pay will likely be better and the company is bigger. I'd like to eventually go into training and associate development. I really like the training aspect of HR!

You might want to check on positions at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock. They have good benefits, are always expanding and they will also pay for tuition if you decided to go to nursing school. I know you said in another post you're opposed to daycare but they have one onsite and are very pro-breastfeeding. Some of the same folks have worked there for twenty years. And yes, as if you couldn't tell I work at Children's and all 3 of my kiddos have been in the daycare. In fact, one lady took care of all of them when they were infants. They called me whenever they were hungry and I was fortunate enough to be able to go nurse them. Oh and we have an amazing lactation department so we're pumping-mom-friendly too. Just a thought...

Have you checked on base? They're hiring a purchasing agent right now. Here's a link with more info:

I used to work over there. They're nice people!
