Inspiring Magazine and Book Recommendations

Hi ladies,

About 9 months ago I got thrown into the life of a homemaker and SAHM. After 23 years of eating out and not being home enough to make a mess, I'm realizing that I have no idea how to "make" a home. I actually really bad at it (as I sit in a pile of toys) But thats okay because I believe it really is a skill and that, like with anything, if I want to be good at it, I'll need to work at it. So i need some inspiration! Where did you start? What books or magazines do you find the most inspiration from? Which would be good starter books for a newbie homemaker?

I really want to be great at this. I want to do whats best for my family and I want to make our home our paradise. So from cooking, cleaning, gardening, decorating, crafting, anything! and everything

I occasionally read Home Living Helper: http://homeliving.blogspot.com/ To let you know, the ladies of this site are Christian and there is a lot of Scripture quoted. However, if you ever wanted to feel that being a housewife, not just a sahm, is worth a million pounds of gold, this site will do it for ya, haha! Never before have I read articles about the goodness of spending your day setting up girly, frilly rooms and sipping tea to take care of the homestead!
