I just went to a store and tried on the ergo and beco. I opted for the ergo...one for the price and two they didn't have any prints I really liked in the beco. I would really like to have both but DH says only one. I think I'll sneak a new beco in though....
When I got home though, I found it difficult to put my 3 month old baby in. I didn't get the infant insert and she didn't like laying in the sling position even though I used a blanket just as the insert would be used. Even in our slings we've always kept her upright in a squat position so I don't think she really likes to be layed down.
I tried putting one of her legs in a squat and the other one dangling out (as per the ergo website suggestion) but her inside foot was just going down in between me and the hip belt. The seat on it seems a little wide for her to sit with her legs out and I'm thinking the seat on the beco wasn't quite as wide. Do you have both the ergo and beco and notice a difference?
What's your experience? Any tips on getting her to fit better in the ergo? Do you have your 3 month old upright with legs out in your ergo?
