Personal preference

I am getting so sick of hearing this argument for circumcision.

Extra cheese on your pizza is personal preference.

High heels vs. flats is personal preference.

Altering the genitals of another human being without their consent falls so far outside the realm of personal preference ... I just ...

Even if my personal (sexual) preference was for a circumcised penis, why would I then alter the genitals of a person who's penis I likely will never see past the age of 6 or 7 and will most definitely never see in a sexual context?

*Sigh* I spent too much time on the internet.

I understand fully your exasperation.

Now, how to turn it into some education?

Yeah, when I was pg with ds I mentioned to my best friend that we weren't going to circ. She wasn't exactly critical of that, but did say something about how she preferred to have sex with circ'd guys (which I believe was probably due to her own hangups and lack of experienced with intact ones). I was really puzzled by how, exactly, she thought her predicted lack of sexual interest in my (30 years younger than her) son was supposed to be an issue.

On the positive side, though, that conversation set wheels in motion and a couple years later she gave birth to her own son, who's intact.

Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Well I prefer men with light hair and blue eyes. Should I put blue contacts in my son's eyes & lighten his hair?

It boggles the mind how people follow the herd without question.

my decision not to circ was actually prompted by a friend saying that her she enjoyed sex w/ intact partners more. (she has no children- we were just having girl talk. )

i'd never heard anyone say that. i was curious about why and i ended up doing a lot of research about circ and decided against the procedure if we had a son.

we did and he isn't.

don't let it bug you. i would simply say "well, we'll let him have his preference".

you never know how a calm simple response can influence someone to think outside of their preconceived notions.

It boggles the mind what these sheeple feel is OK. Although that is an insult to sheep, I appreciate the wool they give us and the lanolin to sooth sore boobies I just mean these people follow the herd.
EXACTLY! I'm at the sheep comment! Why can't they actually, seriously, really, really think about what they are saying? If they thought about it for more than 10 seconds, they would realize just how ridiculous it sounds.

ptthhh.... I wonder if these women with a 'preference' have ever had an intact partner?

I know I'm leaving my son intact because I prefer my men intact.

ew. I can't even say that without grossing out. Baby boys don't have sexual organs, they have cute little baby willies!

laughup Cute baby willies. :

I can't believe I am laughing at something I read in this forum. Usually I am cringing or crying.

I enjoy intact partners more... Different sensations!

Well, i prefer intact also, but that is not why i let it be.......

After researching and logically thinking, I realized that was not somehting that should be done. At first, I thought yeah do it. Then my xh basically said "he!! no" so I looked into. had he said yeah.............
