Ok, how elementary is sewing a diaper? Like should I start off with prefolds or something? Can you even sew a pf? I want to try and make some diapers. I am not THAT amazing at sewing, but I think with practice I COULD figure it out. Help?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I'm sure I'll be in the minority here, but I don't think it's easy.
: I made a few fitteds and a few pockets and decided I'd rather send my fabrics out to have them made by an expert wahm, and spend my time knitting soakers. Some mamas really love making them, though. Prefolds are just so darn cheap. Best wishes, though! I hope it works out for you if you choose to try it.

I just learned how to make a fitted and I can't stop sewing them. I've made 10 or so so far and my machine is not the best so it takes a lot of time and nerves but it is not that hard. The pattern I have is easy and probably not the very bestest but it workes for me.
I bought flannell on sale the other day for 20 Dollars all togehter and made 7 diapers out of it. That makes less than 3 bucks for a fitted diaper.

For me, the first 2 or 3 were frustrating and time consuming. But after that it got much, much easier.
I make pockets & ai2's.
I say go for it. I was very worried about it being too difficult, too, but it really wasn't. I'm actually surprised by how quickly I got into it.

I think with the right start, it can be a fun experience learning to sew diapers. I think investing in a good pattern with good instructions or a diaper making kit with good instructions is a good way to go. Then if you want to branch out and experiment, you have some experience behind you.
Happy sewing!

I'm not a pattern person (which means I can't make very complicated stuff), and I've made 4 fitteds and didn't find it too difficult. I used this concept , but instead of using the Ottobre pattern, I simply traced a fitted I already had (which I guess is a pattern, but you know what I mean
). The first one definitely took me longer than the subsequent ones and I'm still working out kinks in my process, but it's really fun and easier than I thought it would be.
