Yeah, you should totally try some! Oh man, it is DELICIOUS. I like it so much, I drank it TWICE this morning!

(since there's no smiley for "feeling faintly queasy")

Oh Dear! I am sorry. What prompted you to take it, if you don't mind me asking?

41+1, and around here you can't go past 42 without being transferred out of midwifery care. At 42 you get no homebirth, likely hospital induction. I've done it before, and castor oil won't do a thing to me unless I'm "ready", so I don't have any concerns about that.

I went to the hospital where my homebirth CNMs have privileges, and it was okay, but enough to make me want to take a few extra steps to nudge things toward a homebirth. A small intervention preventing several larger ones; a stitch in time saving nine.

Really it isn't bed if you mix it with regular vitamin D chocolate milk. I think I mixed it in a 1/3 CO to 2/3 chocolate milk ratio, stir and drink quickly. I then drank a 1/2 glass of chocolate milk after. I was required to take 2 2oz doses within 3 hours of each other as part of my labor ramp up after my water was leaking on Friday.

Mixing CO with a high "fat" liquid makes it go down easier and helps keep the nausea away.

I'm so tired of being pregnant that I'm considering it - but I'm worried about what people say about the meconium thing...I really don't want to harm baby just b/c I want to meet him/her!!

Well, DH and I tried DTD followed by nipple stimulation this afternoon and I'm timing some majorly big ctx, so I'm going to see how that works first...

Funny how you go from "not at your due date yet" to "need to be induced" within a matter of days!

I take it with a little orange juice and a little vanilla ice cream. The fat in the ice cream binds it up and the orange juice does...something...as well. It goes down pretty easily.

But there is the matter of belching up the faint lipsticky taste later...

The effects are nothing, compared with IBS! Nipple stim gives me minimal contractions, sadly, as does sex...

Oh and about the meconium thing: I haven't seen any evidence that convinces me that it's a real cause and effect thing. During my last birth no meconium was in evidence until WAY later (when an unrelated stress thing occurred). Far as I can tell it's a mechanical action, and I can't figure out how it would cause a baby to pass meconium.

I tried everything for an induction with my first pregnancy after my water broke EXCEPT castor oil. I just couldn't....mama you are one tough cookie in my books!

I hope you get things going! I tried co unsuccessfully with dd. I actually thought if I went into labor with diarrhea this bad I will die! Which leads me to believe that I took too much! Duh! I think I thought nothing was happening so I took it again or something. I'm a dork. I tried the famous mix it with super cold Dr. Pepper trick! Yummo! Also I was reading online this one mw's cocktail is oj, co, and vodka believe it or not! Something about the vodka calming the bowels and you still get contractions? IDK, I'm wishing you well though.

Yeah, Susun Weed recommends the vodka! Two ounces would make me drunk enough to fall off the toilet at this point, so I think I'll stick with the ice cream...:rofl

I got some nice little contractions which have pretty much petered out. So...feh.
