Easy doll sweater?

I am making a waldorf doll for my nephew and want to knit a little sweater for him... but I am so new to knitting... any quick and easy patterns out there??

I don't know how easy it is (seeing as it's knit in pieces and then seamed), but there is a free pattern on the crafts page of Living Crafts magazine's website. It's also in the winter issue. It's a cardigan for a 16" doll. There are buttons, but, you could easily omit those if you wanted and just have an open sweater.

This one is a cinch! It's knit in one piece and then seamed up the sides. Easy peasy.

How hard is that one to get over the doll's head? I feel like our Waldorf doll is a bit big in the head for a pull-over.
