Songs and Verses

I have seen people mention that they use songs and verses to signal changes throughout the day. What specific songs/verses do you use and for what times?

good question!

We use Little miss mufffet , sat on her tuffet - for meals just for the transition then we do a blessing once seated.

the fairies of the storytime song for night time story, we sing then light the candle then say a poem (the poem in the book that comes with the wonder of lullabies )
here is the song:

basic verses general good link.

I would love to know more!

o and in the morning we do our morning blessing and sing:
morning has come, night is away rise with the sun and welcome the day. That's from a parent/child class.

Sorry that most of these I can't really describe the tune but I don't suppose that's a big deal as you could sing it your own way.

For morning there is:
Good morning, good morning, how are you this morning?

For clean up time:
It's tidy away time, it's tidy away time. I know a little dusty gnome, who says it's time to clean our home, clean our home.

For candle lighting:
Fire fairy, fire fairy, dance for me (repeated a few times)

For mealtimes:
Earth who gives to us our food
Sun who makes it ripe and good
dearest earth and dearest sun
joy and love for all you have done.

or
Earth who gives to us our food
sun who makes it ripe and good
never dearest earth and sun
shall we forget what you have done.

For hand washing (to the tune of Frere Jacques):
Wash your hands now, wash your hands now
in the nice warm water, in the nice warm water

There's more which I can't think of right now but if I get a chance I'll post them later.

I like that! Very sweet indeed. I think we'll try the handwashing one too.

I have basic morning, meal, bedtime ones. I am wondering more about the clean up verses, bathtime, etc....the little transitions throughout the day.
Here are ours (though I have yet to implement them faithfully)

Morning Prayer
Good morning earth
Good morning sun
Good morning stones and flowers everyone
Good morning bees and the birds and the trees
Good morning to you and good morning to me.

Mealtime Prayer
Thank you for the world so sweet,
Thank you for the food we eat.
Thank you for the birds that sing,
Thank you God for everything.

Bedtime Prayer
A star for you to wish on (draw star on child's forehead)
The sun so warm and bright (draw sun on forehead)
The moon for you to think on (draw moon)
sweet dreams
a kiss goodnight (kiss forehead)

or

Guardian angels whom we love,
Shine on us from up above,
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
In the morning when I wake,
Show me the path of love to take.
Amen
