if i am upper middle class this country is in serious trouble. dp and i are 21 and 24, neither of us has finished college (to be fair i am working on it though lol), i am a sahm, and dp works for verizon as an installation technician. we have an apt in northern virginia and between rent, utilities, and groceries we barely make it... and my parents help us out as long as i am in school. so um way to go on that research there buddy.

I can't let this stuff bother me too much. I'm used to the opposition. If I were to let opposition to everything I do get to me I'd be a total basket case. I have stopped caring what others think. Especially when the "information" they provide is so obviously false.

Considering that in 1998 I was in 10th grade and the FARTHEST thing from my mind was vaccines causing my children autism, I think he's a little off!

I would like to know how you can be 'upper middle class' AND be on medicaid? Its an interesting idea, but that would imply that we have universal healthcare... and I'm PRETTY SURE that last I checked, that was definetly *NOT* the case!!

Just for the record, in 1998 I was 14... and definetly, babies and vaccines were about teh farthest thing from my mind possible!!

I read an article by the AAP or CDC, I can't remember which, talking about the "no-vax" problem. It said that in the past under-vaxed kids came from low income, low education, minority families but this "new breed" of non-vaxers is coming from more educated, higher income families. I think it really gets their goat that our decisions are not random but informed.

I'll see if I can find that article.

An important point is that in my experience (even my own before I was enlightened due to severe reaction in dc1) people who vax know little to nothing to the contrary. It is part of there belief systems the same as eating food and breathing air. I know it was part of mine. Then my daughter had her first shots and was deathly ill for a month. I began to research more and more before ds and now we will be doing no more vaxes in our house. That decision came after hours and hours of researching, praying, and considering. It was not arrived at lightly yet I injected my dd without a thought while the doc lied to me the whole way.

It freaks them out that we are not fools; we are doing research and realizing their rules and schedules are not written in stone. They cannot easily fight an educated front and they hate it.

*** Oh and as for upper middle class, I wish. They should write my bills out every month as the SAHM wife of a cop. And as for celebs!! HAHA! The coolest celeb I get to watch is Spongebob!!
