Good news? Bad news? Can't tell yet.

Like every factory across America, my husband's work is struggling. They sent home a paper today about "voluntary layoffs" and that they need to cut 6-8% of the work force. We NEED his insurance (If he loses it, maybe I could convince him to do UC lol!). He's definitely not taking the "voluntary" and he's pretty sure they won't lay him off (the severance package is the same whether voluntary or involuntary so who would quit now?), but he's not exactly Boss's pet for whatever reason, and he's only been there a few years, so I don't know. Maybe I worry too much.

He is currently in school for the wind energy program, which should open up job prospects immensely - but not til he graduates in a year-ish.

Now the first week of February, the factory is going to shut down without pay for a week. I'm due the 13th, so cross your fingers that I deliver during that week!

I know how you feel. 2 years ago right around the time our twins were born, the company dh work for started going belly up. He didn't tell me b/c he didn't want me to worry. Twins were born in Dec. and come summer, he was down to 8 hours a week

I will be praying things go well and you have a safe birth.

I hope things work out well for you and your dh! Good luck on the birth happening while he's off.
Mine is essentially underemployed and is looking for more work, it's hard, but we have medicaid to cover the birth luckily.
