What are your favorite things right now?

I have a few things that I am loving for baby and post partum and I thought it would be fun to hear what everyone else is loving.

My list:
Target nursing tanks (and nursing tanks in general)- comfy and so nice for hiding the PP flabbiness.

Carters fleece sleep sacks - my mom gave me a couple of these. They are long sleeved and perfect for co-sleeping. My little guy is not a fan of the swaddle like his brother was, so these are working great.

My new ring sling - a MDC/other AP board mama friend made one for me that is wonderful. I've been using it a ton. Yesterday my mom and I took the boys to a mall to walk around and get a little exercise. Baby K nursed and slept and was content as could be in it for almost 3 hours.

- My boobs!!! They are the best. They go w/ me everywhere and always keep the baby fed and happy:

-Amby Hammock - I use this for naps and haven't even broken out the swing yet. It is perfect bcs it doesn't have straps but holds the baby in safe. (Dh has really bad arthritis and has difficulty operating buckles, clips, etc and he can get her out out w/out any trouble)

- baby legs - these are great w/ new born nighties, dresses, and t-shirts. Makes diaper changes a breeze (especially for dh who can't operate snaps, buttons, etc) Also great for the few trips to the potty that she has had.

- My baby bjorn little potty (BBLP) - I keep it on the changing table and pee her every time I have her diaper off. It works great.

- My Mei tai and my Huggabub- Love the hands free aspect and being able to nurse everywhere.

My baby is my fav thing lol. Taking naps with him. His feet. My arms being able to hold such a big baby and not get tired. Johnson & Johnsons baby lotion...makes them smell delicious. :

I second the boobs!

Also, I made a homemade Moby wrap...love it!

boppy pillow for comfy nursing. I don't NEED it, but it makes it pretty comfy when watching movies on the couch and such.

snappis-I'm loving them this time around, never used them with ds1

soothies-really helped with nipple soreness

Now I have some Target nursing tanks from last time and I think they suck! They totally ride up exposing my flabbiness! I think I'm going to invest in some glamourmom tanks, hopefully they're longer.

Hmmm...just knowledge in general. I feel SO much more relaxed this time. I'm not sitting here trying to figure everything out so I can really enjoy my newborn time.

cody'smomma, the Target tanks I'm talking about are a new style! Longer, and they don't have the wierd boob holes (that my boobs did NOT line up with) that the old ones have. They are a million times better. I even like them as much, if not more than, my glamourmoms! I was a doubter, but got one after another message board friend swore they were good. Then I went back and got another one.

And yeah, boobs are definitely the best!

My sweet little girl! She is so easy going and I love how she smells, all milky and spit-up-y .
Your first 2 things are also my favorites, Target nursing tanks and Carter's fleece sleep sacks (and the sleepers also, since I've been using fitteds, the fleece works great as covers!)
I also love my Moby wrap
I love the glider we decided to buy for our room, since we co-sleep. I spend pretty much half my day there nursing her, and we set up a little basket next to it, with books and pads for DS to draw and color and read etc. to keep him occupied when I'm nursing DD.

Hmmm...right now I am loving the learning pad/center thingie someone gave us. Evangeline will lie there and stare at the stuff and play with the rattles, etc. You can SEE her learning and investigating so I just love it.

I think the most useful thing so far is this apron like thing called a Hooter Hider. I can freely nurse when we have guests and given that it's been the holidays we have had plenty of them. I have also nursed in the car with it. It's a modest woman's best friend.

We just got these bed bug bumper thingies and they are making our new necessity to co-sleep easy peasy and without worry.

The one disappointing item is our Amby I'm glad it's working for someone. In defense, Evangeline won't tolerate anything as a sleeper unless it gives her free access to me.

For a few days I prayed a prayer of thanks all the time to our Zen swing. Poor Evangeline has GERD so for a while nothing soothed her. FInally the combo of meds and that swing gave our poor arms a reprieve.

are the nursing tanks the Gillian O'Malley ones?

I've never ever been able to wear a nursing tank but I SO want to. I hate wearing a bra to bed but I need some support these days as my boob ligaments have been hurting.

Nursing! He's a month old today and we finally got to nurse three days ago for the first time.
Nipple shields are a hassle, but I can feed my baby!

I don't have any favorite items really, we both pretty much sit around naked and cuddling.

Those are the ones, Amie!

I agree that nursing tanks are amazing!

My absolute favorite thing is the bumgenius diapers; they are so easy that my skeptic FIL loved them.

The ring sling was really nice because Leo hates being laid down while there is action going on. PLus i get a little workout everytime I carry him!

Bravado nursing tank - had Glamourmom before, and they aren't supportive enough. I'd be interested to try the Target ones, since they are so much cheaper. Do you think they are supportive enough for a DD or F cup?

Stretch wrap - mine is WAHM made with a beautiful print and little guy loves it

My Breast Friend nursing pillow - very comfy

#1 - all previous knowledge from DD

#2 - my sling, I never had one with DD, and I LOVE IT!

#3 - my newly found lack of caring whether or not others see any/all of my boob while feeding in public, no more bathroom or car nursing sessions for me

#4 - cloth nursing pads - so much more comfy than disposable ones

#5 - cloth wipes to stick over him so I don't get peed on at every diaper change

I have to agree with your #1 - DS is jaundiced ( bili was 23.5 2 days ago). If not for what I learned the hard way w/my DDs, I'd have given in to the "time to hospitalize, stop nursing" etc - not this time! Still haven't had him re-checked yet but he's doing great.

#3, too! With all 3 of my girls I was so modest I think it really affected my milk because I'd stress out so much. Not this time!

#4, I've always used - but I have like 100 disposables that other people gave me.

I need to find a sling that I can use. Or does someone have a pattern to make one? I'm short, so the slings/carriers I've had always hung down way too far and I couldn't adjust them anymore.

Have to add in my Lansinoh & homemade heat/ice packs.

And my girls! They have all been so great about helping me & ds these past few days.

I'm loving my Lansinoh nursing pads (I have a milk leakage problem), my placenta capsules, and my preschool co-op, which has been bringing us dinner and many lovely baby presents.

And my husband! He's upstairs lying down with the napping baby right now, reading a book. I'm downstairs, ignoring the big kids while they fight over magic markers and drawing papers. It's just like old times! I'll be so sad when DH has to go back to work and I have to actually take care of all three kids at once.

I'm 5'2" and am using a hotsling. I just went with the smaller of the two sizes that I'd fit into becuase I know I'm pretty short.

The Moby wrap is totally adjustable (it's just a long strip of fabric) and by far the most comfortable carrier I own. You can make one by cutting a piece of cotton jersey to the right dimensions (18'L x 24"W).

My favorites...
  • The moby wrap I made - we wear it all day, so I'm sure it will soon be the thing I hate most!
  • My morning cup of earl gray tea with sugar
  • Bum Genius diapers
  • Hot showers

I second this! I made mine out of an old jersey sheet. I just cut two strips and sewed them together in the middle.

I just want to say THANK YOU! After hearing your advice, I went to target today and bought TWO new tanks. They are wonderful! Nice and long, I hope they don't shrink.
