How many children do you have already? 2: ds is 8yo and dd is 5yo

How did you end up at MDC? My sister told me about it

If you could move anywhere for no more then 2 years, where would it be? Ireland

Tell something really impulsive and crazy that you did when you were young. I stayed out the night before I took my ACT and did all sorts of reprehensible things with a really cute, if psychotic 32 guy.

How did you meet your dh/so/dp, if you have one? through mutual friends in a gaming group

Are you *just like* your mother, or the exact opposite? in many ways like mom, in others not so much.

How many children do you have already?

This will be my first. :

How did you end up at MDC?

I can't really remember. I sort of stumbled upon it.

If you could move anywhere for no more then 2 years, where would it be?

Norway. We're actually planning to move there for a couple of years. Not sure when though.

Tell something really impulsive and crazy that you did when you were young.

I met a boy on the Internet when I was 18 and went on a whirlwind road trip across the states. Just for fun.

How did you meet your dh/so/dp, if you have one?

We're both musicians, so we met through that scene.

Are you *just like* your mother, or the exact opposite?

I'm a lot like my mother, minus the stubborn streak. We're both drama queens.

I have twin girls who are 1 year old. I lurked for years until I got pregnant cause I knew this was the place for me when I WAS to be a mommy. I have experience as a doula and a labor & delivery RN in a major hospital, so I've seen it all from all sides of the spectrum. When we spontaneously conceived our girls I was fearful about not having the birth I'd always dreamed of, but with lots of luck and support I was able to deliver them vaginally with no IV or meds, as "natural" as possible but within the constraints of having to do it in an OR with a million people staring at me like I was a freak (and YES some of these people were co-workers! I delivered in the very same hospital I worked). Needless to say I am VERY excited about planning for a homebirth this time as I have a hunch it's not twins this time around. We'll see what the early ultrasound will say. We are having an ultrasound JUST to see if it's twins or not so I can plan.

I studied abroad in Italy while in college and would love to go back for a couple of years. Either in Rome/Florence or Paris. Gosh this question makes me ache for a vacation!

When I was young I opted to fly on a plane all by myself as a last minute decision and to the shock of my father and brother. We were touring antique planes and the pilot offered to fly us on this widdle bitty plane and I said yes without hesitation (I think I was 9? don't quite remember but I DO remember my dad being very nervous). I was pretty gutsy as a kid physically. I won all the "field days" so I guess from a young point I've always been competitive

husband and I met in college when I was 19 and have been together since (I'm 33). We started the kid phase with the twins as late we did on purpose cause we wanted to travel the world and be a couple for as long as we could, and I'm really glad we waited to have the children cause dang what if we had twins in college ??????????? *shiver*

people say I am not like my mom at all but I see myself in her (all the good stuff about her I emulate)

How many children do you have already?

I have two. Lula is 7, and Marcos is 4.

How did you end up at MDC?

I can't remember! It probably had something to do with the Mothering magazine my midwife gave me when I was pregnant with Lula.

If you could move anywhere for no more then 2 years, where would it be?

Spain.

Tell something really impulsive and crazy that you did when you were young.

I tried and tried to think of something! I guess, getting my nose pierced at Lollapalooza? OH! I took a week-long cruise by myself when I was 19. I don't know where I got the courage, that is really not like me.

How did you meet your dh/so/dp, if you have one?

He was a friend of my ex-DH's.

Are you *just like* your mother, or the exact opposite?

Some of each I guess. We were more alike when I was younger, but she has withdrawn in the last 5-10 years. I think I've decided to be much happier than she is, and I wish she could be happy too. I don't try to hide my pain like she does. But she's always been really patient, and I strive to be like that. I also wish I was as crafty and that I could sew as well as she does.

From a magazine our Bradley instructor let us borrow

I don't think I'd move far from where I am but maybe a little farther so my in-laws wouldn't come visit so often

I accidentally lit the garage on fire by goofing around with a bucket of gas and matches and then tried to cover it up so my parents wouldn't find out. Yeah like they might not notice the whole side of the yellow garage had turned black lol.

We are both in IT, he used to be my boss.

I have some similar things (like her care-taking nature) and try to avoid other things that she does (like her terrible pack rat habit)

How many children do you have already? 2 living, 3 miscarried

How did you end up at MDC? I can't remember. I think I heard about it from some of my other online "crunchy" mama friends.

If you could move anywhere for no more then 2 years, where would it be? Singapore? Australia? The UK? Ooo, hard choice. We're already living overseas.

Tell something really impulsive and crazy that you did when you were young. When I was 17, I sent a guy I had a crush on, 1 red rose per day for a week and at the end of the week, I revealed who I was. He didn't reciprocate. Terribly embarrassing.

How did you meet your dh/so/dp, if you have one? We met in university. We were both doing drama.

Are you *just like* your mother, or the exact opposite? I am a lot like my mother. I think some of that is good (her determination and independence), but a lot of it is not, and I work consciously at not parenting in a lot of the ways I was parented.
