Looking for inexpensive/free student doula in Baltimore

I'm a separated mom to be and I'm delivering at Mercy in Baltimore somewhere around the end of February. I'm really strapped financially but have also become concerned about my labor support (read: mom) as she's taken to questioning my decisions regarding my birth choices in the 11th hour. If anyone knows of any resources available, I would really appreciate it.

Hi Jenny,

I delivered at Mercy in Sept. and had a wonderful birth. I recall hearing about a Hopkins school of nursing program offering free birth companions who are nursing students. I think it was called the Birth Companions Program. The number I had was (410) 614-6458. I called and did not receive a call back so be persisent!

Good Luck and happy birthing!

Here's their website I just found: http://www.son.jhmi.edu/practice/bc/

I'm available. PM me and we'll set up a meeting. If you are using Kathy Slone and associates, you can probably get away without a doula though.
