information about colors

anyone know or know where i can get info on what different colors bring out in children? Or how specific colors relate to the temperaments? like melancholic children should be surrounded by blue to bring out red etc - just an example don't know if that is true or not.

I am really interested in how color is believed to effect people in general also and whether this is used throughout the day, such as focusing on different colors before bed as opposed to in the morning or different color associated with different activities within the rhythm of the day depending on what you want to accomplish.... or is color even regarded to that extent or is it just wall painting and decoration?

as a side note haha this rant/interest started because i decided that the orange/yellow silks I dyed a few weeks ago for dd's light blue room are too bright and excitable for a sleeping environment so I tried to make them more violetish adn they turned dark purple/brown with hints of orange sort of an orange eggplant color, so then i thought ok calmer I guess but also sad and dark and maybe that's not good and it should be more dreamy and fairyish and this will somehow effect her incarnation because it's too earthy haha yeah overkill huh haha

Ooo, I'm really interested in this, too!
And no-one I ask seems to know much about it. I've been trying dressing ds in more warm colors to try to produce the complementary colors... it does seem to have an effect...
