I'm wearing maternity pants right now. - Page 2

Glad I'm not the only one! I've got on regular jeans now, and they're fine, but by the evenings I'm so bloated I'm tempted to break out the maternity pants I bought last week. They're the adjustable waist ones from Old Navy (size two, normally I'm a size six!!) so they're only a little big around the waist now. I need a belt. They sit so low that all of my belts that fit my around my waist are too small because these sit on my hips. But they're SO comfortable, to not have anything pushing against my belly.

Last time I got maternity overalls at five weeks for the same reason. It was just so uncomfortable. Now I've been buying empire waist dresses since July in anticipation that I would find them comfortable, but it's been a bit chilly here in NC for dresses, and I haven't shaved my legs in a few days. LOL

I bought fabric in three different colors this weekend and am going to make them tomorrow. We'll see how it goes!

I spent $18 and got enough fabric for 4. Hopefully they'll be super straightforward.

Oh I am so glad this thread is here! I wore a higher rise pair of jeans today because they're a bigger size than my skinny jeans but even so I had to unbutton AND unzip under my apron just to sit at my bench, LOL. I've been eyeing some maternity jeans... Guess it's time to take the plunge! I've been holding out--it's funny how we get superstitious-- because with my last pregnancy I miscarried right after I bought maternity jeans.

That does make sense, and, duh, I probably wouldn't have thought of that.

Mat pants

Wow- I feel so much better after reading these posts!

Even though I am only 6 weeks, and naturally tall and lean (5'8", 130 lbs), I feel big in the waist already. I know it's just the bloating, etc., but my pants are so tight! It's driving me crazy- I thought I was losing my mind.

I did buy two Bella Bands yesterday, so looking forward to trying them out. If anything they can cover what my riding-up-shirts aren't- I hate my bbs right now.

I broke out the maternity clothes a few days ago...and some of them are even too small..lol. I guess I"m going to be buying some new ones especially since my first was in the winter and this one will be the summer.

Tracy, did you find a pattern (or dimensions, at least) somewhere or are you just going to wing it? I look forward to hearing how yours turn out and may sew some too!

I found some loose instructions online, so I'll take those and wing it. I hope they turn out!

The one thing I found online that I wouldn't have known was that they are apparently double-thickness. And a suggestion to buy swimsuit liner type lycra. I got fabrics that are stretchy, but firm, too. I don't want them to stretch right out the first time I wear them.

If they turn out I'll post pics and let you guys see what you think.

I hear you about wanting to wear loose or stretchy fabrics. I've been unbuttoning my pants lately too.

I also have bins of clothes of all sizes from maternity to everything in between. I haven't gotton rid of much from my last pregnancy or from post partum. But like some of you have said, I'll be pregnant in a different season this time.
With DD I bought a huge tent coat for winter after I outgrew my regular winter coat. Now I'll need more sundresses and loose fabrics for summer. It will be fun to start looking.
My sister in law had her son in september, so she may loan me some things too.

Oh man, really? I won't even be 4 weeks until Wednesday (I got my BFP 4 days before my period would arrive!) so everything is still the same for me, but obviously I only have a week or so before I'll be living in my yoga pants. Awesome.

I'm looking forward to getting some new, CUTE maternity stuff this time! Last time I was big in the winter, so those clothes won't work. And in 2001 when I was pregnant in the summer, I think the idea of "stylish maternity wear" was just starting to enter people's conciousness. So I have some decent things, and some hideous giant-front-stretchy-panel things.

Tracy, looking forward to seeing your bands! I'll make some too if they go well for you...

I'm loving my maternity jeans now!! 8 weeks along....but here in the September mamas thread as I'm expecting to go to 42 or 43 weeks

Is it weird that I'm looking forward to buying and wearing maternity clothes? For years I've wanted by the maternity stores/departments and thought how cute the clothes are and how fun it would be to have a big belly and wear them.

I'm going to leave that for awhile (I think? Can you tell what you'll fit into ahead of time?) until I need them and have an idea of what shape I'll be, but I did start looking at the Bella Bands/Belly Brites bands yesterday.

apparantly everyone who is my size either doesn't get pregnant or is loaded.

looks like i'll be living in sweatpants, regular stretchy shorts and skirts til i deliver...

I went to 43 weeks with my second. But, I'm due so early in Sept. that even 3 weeks late should still put me in September.

Y'all, I did not get the belly bands done today. We had to cut our sewing day at my mom's short, as my neighbor needed an emergency babysitter. I'm hoping to get out my machine in the morning and get them done.

It's so funny that I searched this site for how to do the bella bands and found my own DDC! I am trying to sew some tonight using old shirts I don't want anymore. I figure if I completely screw them up, I can turn them into a stuffer for my cloth diapers or just toss them. I didn't want them anyway.

That is funny!

I made mine, but haven't posted pics yet. They turned out okay!

Let us know how your tee-shirt ones turn out. I was interested to do that, but didn't have any tees that were tight enough.
It turned out great! I used a combination of the pattern you posted and this one: http://www.planetjune.com/blog/haram...rmer-tutorial/ I cut the tee, so it was more that I just used the tee to make fabric rather than trying to use what was already there and make it tight enough. I want to make a couple more and then I will post pictures.
