I posted yesterday wondering if I might be in active labor just moments before realizing that I sure as heck was in active labor. :-)
I called a friend to drop off my dd, and she was down the street at a nail salon getting a pedicure. We dropped dd off with her -- dh plopped her right down into my friend's lap as she sat in the massaging chair with her feet soaking. The car ride was ROUGH! Contractions were three minutes apart. We arrived and I was quite disappointed to be only three cm dilated. I was in so much pain.
I was attempting a VBAC but was not successful. Baby was really high and having some strange heart rate issues. Turns out she was sunny side up and the bottom of my uterus was extremely thinned out. They took me for c-section at 5 cm and the nurses and doctors said it was just in time. No more VBAC attempts for me, they say (thought we don't plan on another baby.)
I'll be in the hospital a few more days. Nursing is going great.
